Ford Mustang 1966 Description

To start with, et me first say that I am listing this ’66 Shelby GT350 Tribute for a well-known classic and muscle car dealership and in doing so, will be acting as an agent for this dealership. The owner, ho is a friend and someone that I have known for over 20 years, span>founded his dealership in 1996 and has been a veteran of the car business for over 30 years. All of his vehicles are chosen for the highest standards and quality. A careful and complete analysis is done on every one before they offered for sale.

I understand that there is a lot of information in my ad. I also understand that this may be boring to the person who is just looking and not buying. However, or the person who is looking to buy and spend their hard earned money, feel that there is never too much information.

As to myself, am a (66) year old kid that loves muscle cars. For my work, am retired from Managing a Correctional Facility here in Maine and had worked for the Maine Department of Corrections for (40) years. I am also a respected member of my community. I mention this only because of the value of this car and so that prospective buyers will have some idea as to who they are dealing with. Also, lease check out my eBay feedback that has only one negative feedback which I believe I should not have received. I was given the option to refund money to the buyer or he would leave negative feedback and ruin my 100% feedback. I did nothing wrong and always disclose everything in my ads so I declined. He left the one and only negative comment out of (1,141) transactions. Many of my transactions have been muscle cars, hich I have sold to individuals all over the country as well as Canada, ngland, rance, witzerland and Australia. My reputation for honesty is well known amongst muscle car lovers.

Just a little history on the 1966 Shelby GT350:

The ’65 Shelby was uncompromisingly a racecar, ut for the ’66 model, helby was willing to include a few consumer-friendly features. He added some backseats that folded down for extra trunk space, rovided additional optional colors and extended exhaust pipes to reduce cabin noise. Additionally, is team added an optional automatic transmission.

The ’66 dropped the word Mustang from its name completely, nd some other exterior changes were made as well. You can tell the difference between a ’65 and a ’66 by looking for rear quarter windows and brake scoops, hich were added to the ’66. Under the hood, he ’66 kept the same modified K-Code 289 engine, aking it just as much of a street legal racecar as its predecessor.

The 1966 Shelby had a unique variation: the GT350H. The H stands for Hertz, he car rental company. Shelby recognized that many people chose not to buy the ’65 because of the fact that owning a racecar isn’t exactly practical for everybody. The company made 1,001 special models just for Hertz, hich were rented out in locations all across the company.

The cars weren’t any different than the regular GT350, xcept for their distinctive standard paint scheme: black with gold stripes. Most came with the automatic transmission, ut a limited number were available with the manual transmission for purists. Anyone who wanted to rent a manual had to join the Hertz Sports Car Club, hich only granted membership to those who could demonstrate their ability to properly work a stick shift.

Though the GT350Hs came with the optional back seats for family and friends, hey were still advertised as “Rent-a-Racer” cars. Some renters raced their GT350Hs in production class car competitions.

Enough for the history lesson:

Starting with a rust free and very straight donor '66 Mustang Fastback, he builder of this Shelby GT350 tribute spent countless hours recreating his boyhood dream car. The body and chassis were stripped to bare metal, otisserie style, efore being completely resprayed. The exterior is as correct as can be. The rocker panel stripes, orrectly spaced Guardsman Blue racing stripes over Wimbledon White are an exact recreation of the original paint & graphics. An exhaustively detailed photo build is available in this ad.

a 289ci engine, he appearance of the engine and engine bay are as close to original as possible. The transmission is a 4-speed toploader.

The inside of the car has been completely stripped and features an over the top restoration.
