I HAVE COMPLETED THE RESTORATION KEEPING AS CLOSE TO OEM AS POSSIBLE
ENGINE
Open the hood and there is the original 292 V8 Thunderbird engine rebuilt by a professional Machine shop in January 2016. Less than 300 miles since rebuild. The 292 and 312 ci engine was introduced in 1956 as Fords most sought after options. This "Y-Block" is topped with the economical two barrel carburetor (professionally rebuilt) with the correct argent silver OEM air cleaner. Notice the valve covers, they too are OEM valve covers with the correct decals. The fuel pump and fuel lines are correct and new. The dual exhaust was system was custom made to OEM specifications.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT:
While the engine was removed, the entire engine compartment was detailed back to it's original beauty of yesteryear. The voltage regulator, wiper motor, windshield squirter reservoir bag, and all plug wires were replaced with new OEM style
BODY AND TRIM
The Victoria body was completely stripped and re-painted to it's original factory color, Flame Red and Colonial White. The windshield was replaced with OEM style glass and OEM gasket. The back glass was removed cleaned and re installed with OEM gasket. The seats and door panels were professionally covered with correct OEM upholstery and correct new red carpet was installed. All of the interior trim pieces were removed, stripped and re-painted. The bumpers were re-chromed and fitted back on the car.
Check out the detailed overhauled OEM spotlight/rear view mirror with correct chrome installation brackets. HOW COOL IS THAT ? They were professionally fitted on to the body using Ford's spotlight OEMtemplate. They both light up and swivel just as they did back in the day. The cost of the spotlights, rebuilding and fitting was well over $1,000, but the "coolness" they provide is well worth the expense.
Mercury Cruiser Skirts: Some collectors like them, some do not. If you are the "do not" like Buyer, I will deduct $500 from the price and install the regular stock skirts shown in the pictures.
I am selling the Victoria because I have a new expensive "girlfriend" an unexpected purchase of a 1957 Ford Sunliner convertible.
