We are offering for sale thisbeautiful 1963 Galaxie 500XL convertible. Thissolid, rust free and real 500XL (body code 76B) convertible was repainted at some time in the recent past in its born with Rangoon Red color. The paint shows extremely well and the panels are straight and true with excellent fit and gaps. The doors, hood and trunk allshut nice and all the weatherstrip is in good shape as well. There are two minor imperfections of note on the body. A small ding on the trunk with no paint damage that could easily be fixed with PDR and a scratch approximately 6" long on the lower driver's door. Other than those two issues, and a few stone chips here and there, the rest of the body is beautiful. Both imperfections are shown in the pictures hosted on the link below.

The highly optioned interior haswhat isbelieved to be all original seat covers, console and carpet all in excellent condition. The power windows work as they should as does the power top. This car was originally equipped with A/C and while the underdash unit is still in place and in great shape, the compressor and other associated equipment was removed at some point in its life. The heat controls are in place as well, but the heater core has been bypassed. This was obviouslyused asafair weather car by its previous owners. All of the gauges and dash lights work including the period Rotunda steering column mounted tachometer.

ThisGalaxie was born with a Z Code 390 4-barrel engine that hasbeenupgradedwith afactory tri-carb induction system, cast ironHiPoexhaust manifolds, dual exhaustand larger than stock cam. Allof the carbs and linkage workflawlessly and cold starts are a breeze with the workingelectric choke. The correct 4-speedmanual gearbox operatessmoothly and quietly andjust had a new clutch installedwithin the last month. The 3.50:1 geared 9" rear end rounds out the trouble free drivetrain and allows for highway cruising as well as quick pick up around town. All in all this is an extremely sorted out driver that needs nothing to provide its new owner with years of driving pleasure.
