Ford Other 1978 Description
This 1977 Ford Pinto wagon was found in a garage where it had been parked since 1991. The owner was an older gentleman who used it for his fishing car. His granddaughter said he would load a small boat onto the roof rack and go fishing at the local lakes. The car shows 44,000 miles on the clock and I think it is probably true according to its use history, the time period it has been in storage and the overall condition of the car. The car seems to be all original and everything in the car works, even the cigarette lighter. I have had the fuel tank, fuel lines and carburetor cleaned, replaced the fuel filter, water pump, thermostat and housing, changed the oil and filter, replaced the battery and put on new tires. The car has also received a complete tune-up with new plugs, wires, cap, rotor and air filter. The car started on the first attempt and runs excellent. It goes through all the gears well and has plenty of power. The original “Medium Jade†paint is in good shape and shines well, it does have some chips along the rocker panels from traveling down gravel roads and some nicks and scrapes from being 38 years old. This is a beautiful and rare color that was only offered for one year. The green plaid seats are a blast from the past and are in like new condition. The deep pile carpet shows very minimal wear, the dash has no cracks and the headliner is perfect. All of the gauges and electronics work as they should including the original AM/FM radio and rear defroster. The glass and brightwork is in like new condition with no chips or nicks. This car would be great for a collector of for someone who wants to drive it every day. I have included photos from the barn where I found it and some from now. The car is advertised locally so the auction could end early.
