Ford Model A 1930 Description
Last time to be listed and reserve drastically reduced for a sale to a good home. You are Looking at an older fully restored 1930 Model A Deluxe Coupe This car was frame off restored in the early 1970's. That is 40 plus years ago! I have owned this car since 2001. I am the third owner of this great 1930 Model A Deluxe Coupe. The second owner did a frame of restoration in the early 1970's. When I bought it, the one thing that hadn't been done was an engine rebuild so I had a top of the line rebuilt engine by Hart Auto Parts installed which is a Premium Engine with A Counter Weighted Crank Balance Assembly. I wanted a Dependable Driver not a show car. Engine Ordered from Hart's November 2001 for $3325 and delivered and installed in the spring of 2002. This car does have a few spots of bondo on both doors lower edges and possibly in areas in front lower areas in front and behind doors as is evidenced by lifting paint in those areas. Someone very knowledgeable went over the body today and pointed these areas out to me which I was not aware of. It runs well and drives well. It has a Baron Le Bonney Interior in 95% excellent condition. I have replaced everything under the hood in addition to the engine since owning this car to include new starter, modern Radiator, new modern fan, distributor, muffler, intake and exhaust manifolds, rebuilt carburetor, new rebuilt steering box and assembly, new steering column and lots of other things I can't even remember. All parts for this Model A were bought by me from well know Model A Parts supplier Brattons! This is not a show car. Paint has age and is looking tired so it could stand a new paint job but I will leave that to the new owner. It looks good from a distance, It has some misc. cracking, fading, paint loss and minor rust spots where paint has fallen off along top of engine swivel lids and on the lid edges. Also has misc paint lifting spots on body. Live with it as is or repaint it. That is up to you. Please note this is not a show car or in show car condition. It needs a new paint job and like any other 87 year old car it likely will need other new items periodically. It will also need new tires. I have only put 580 miles on this new engine so it is hardly broken in. VIN is A382401. Because this is a completely rebuilt as new engine from Hart's with counter weighted Crank Balance Assembly, there is no VIN stamped in engine block. This can be added but not by me. I always wanted to drive it more but never found the time. Front fenders are original never repainted so they have some paint loss and paint spidering at 95% coverage but have a great original patina. Has new rubber floor mat. I recently took it to my Model A Club meet where the Club inspects everyone's Model A. Everything passed. Starts up on first crank almost every time. it runs nice and quite and often starts with no choke at all. I hate to sell it but times and interests change. If you are looking for a driver or for a template for a Hot Rod, this could have your name all over it. I reserve the right to end auction early as I have it for sale locally. I can assist with helping load it up for shipping. Thank you for looking. My preference for payment is cash.Car passed NYSannual safety inspection in NY State and got the sticker no problems at the end of April 2017. All lights, directional lights and horn work. Took it to my Model A Club Annual Safety Inspection in early May and Everything appeared to beworking and everyone loved it! Other pictures available upon request. Available for inspection If you contact me. It's priced fairly for what it is especially in light of the Hart's Rebuilt Counter Weighted Crank Balance Assembly / Premium Engine that cost $3325. The engine is the most important part. As it is an 87 year old antique car, it is sold as is, where is, with no warranty written or implied. The rebuilt engine is basically a brand new engine. The cost of one today is $3995. I just got off the phone with Hart's. It has Babbit Bearings. Lowered reserve and priced to sell. All sales final. This is an 87 year old car, I know I am the third owner but I do not have any information an it's history and everyone who sees it has different speculations based on their expertise. I bought it and owned it to drive and enjoy. I am not a story teller or hand holder.Know what you are bidding on. Sold as is where is. Pick up or shipping is the responsibility of buyer. Don't bid if you are a tire kicker, old car dreamer or think this is something it isn't. It is what it is and can be whatever you want it to be!
