When I got in to the classic car business 10 years ago I never thought that the first generation Ford Broncos would be a vehicle that I would be drawn to. Well, about 5 years ago I bought my first one when a guy with a '65 Mustang Fastback offered me his as part of a package deal. After driving that Bronco I was hooked and evidently I was not alone as these Early Ford Broncos have become one of the hottest categories in the collector car market in the past few years. Since that time I have owned about 50, 1967-1977 Ford Broncos. Some have been completely original, uncut and others have been slightly modified with rear fender flares and lift kits for a more aggressive, rugged look. This particular 1969 Bronco stands heads and shoulders above most both cosmetically and mechanically. It is gorgeous from top to bottom, inside and out, plus a great stance!
This gorgeous '69 Bronco is believed to have spent its life in Texas and Arkansas and as a result lived a really good life compared to most, free of the typical rust that so many of these early Broncos have. The gentleman I bought it from out of Arkansas purchased it from someone he knew who had owned it for about 10 years. During the 6 months he owned it he found out his wife was pregnant with their first child and the dream of owning an awesome Bronco had to be put on hold for a few more years. When he first got it he said the body was completely rust free but the paint was showing its age so he took it to a shop to have it repainted. He had it painted in a bright orange and quite frankly the quality of the paint job was really below my standard. He also had a fiberglass hood on the Bronco which I personally was not a fan of. As a result, after receiving this Bronco I put some thought in to what I wanted to do and decided that this Bronco drove so well and was so solid overall that I needed to have it completely repainted. Since I was not personally a fan of the orange, and it was not the original color anyhow I decided to make a complete color change and chose a gorgeous Cherry Red Pearl Metallic that I hope you will agree really suits this Bronco nicely and helps it stand out from the rest. Of course we did not stop there and as you will see we went through this '69 Bronco from top to bottom and the result is a jaw dropping beauty that hits the road great and is ready to show and go!! I will do my best to provide enough large images, a video of the Bronco starting up and running and an honest description to help you decide if this is the one you have been searching for. As with all of my classics I do have this Bronco advertised on several other websites as well as my own so if you want to scoop it up before the next car guy or gal does then feel free to call me to discuss how we can make that happen. Sit back and enjoy!
As I mentioned this beautiful Bronco received a very high quality, professional paint job in a gorgeous Cherry Red Pearl Metallic base coat/clear coat just a few months ago. According to the trim tag in the glove box this Bronco was originally a color called Cordova which was a a muted orange color. The previous owner had it repainted in a bright orange and since the paint quality was sub-par I decided to treat this '69 to a complete color change. I made sure the shop I used took their time and did a complete color change inside and out. They did a fantastic job!!! The body is extremely straight and the color dances in the sun. In fact as you will see in the pics below when the sun hits this truck it takes on a brighter tone and when it is in the shade takes on a darker tone. I replaced the fiberglass hood that was on the Bronco when I got it with a high quality original style steel hood. The front fenders were also pretty wavy so rather than use a bunch of filler we opted to replace the front fenders with high quality reproductions. This Bronco is all steel and body fit is fantastic. The doors open and shut very nicely and do not stick out when shut like so many of the Broncos you will see on the market. Of course with such gorgeous paint we had to make sure all of the chrome and badging was equally as nice so bumpers and emblems were replaced and the front grill was painted in silver with new FORD letters. This Bronco also has the sport trim around the windshield and hard top glass as well as the stainless around the driver and passenger windows. These look excellent but are not brand new. I also replaced the windshield and all of the weatherstripping at the time of the repaint. The door window felts were not changed out and the passenger side does show some age. New roll bar was powder coated in black and a new bikini top was added. As you can see the rear fender flares were painted body color and look great. Overall the paint and body are near flawless. I think the walk around photo tour of the body below will show you what you want to see.

Living in the Atlanta, GA area I personally enjoy driving these Broncos with the hard top off and think they look awesome this way. This Cherry Red Pearl beauty actually looks as good with the hard top on as it does with it off. The Hard top was in great condition but I decided to treat it to a fresh coat of wimbledon white paint at the time the rest of the Bronco was painted. Both the outside and inside of the hard top were repainted and a new head liner was also installed. Before the headliner was installed a thick layer of sound deadener was installed which really helps to eliminate the vibration noise most of the hard tops have. All new seals around the hard top as well and we also installed nutserts which make it easier to blot and unbolt the hard top at time of removal or installation. A new wiper cover was also installed which does come off when the hard top is removed. The rear hatch on the hard top works great as does the tailgate. Check this baby out with the hard top on....pretty sweet!

Complimenting the Cherry Red Pearl exterior is a an equally eye appealing parchment white interior. Our restoration continued inside this Bronco with new seat covers on original front and rear seats. Brand new door panels, brand new rear interior panels, brand new carpet kit, new center console, and much more!! As you will see the interior looks fantastic and probably looks as good if not better than new. Before putting in the new carpet kit we also placed a thick layer of sound deadening jute padding throughout the cabin front and rear, as well as behind the rear interior panels and the door panels so that this Bronco is nice and quiet throughout. You can really hear a difference compared to a Bronco that has not received this treatment. We also added original style front and rear seat belts ( some pics were taken before the rear belts were installed). Original steering wheel looks great with minor signs of age. The horn recently stopped working. All of the gauges appear to be working correctly although the fuel gauge may be slightly off. The dash was repainted in the Wimbledon white and looks great. Dash pad looks fantastic. Windows roll up and down nicely and glass looks great. There was an aftermarket radio installed many years ago which does power on but there are currently no speakers attached. Most of the time I find people will add an updated stereo in the center console which has an area designed for it. You will also notice that while this Bronco does not have a spare tire carrier mounted on the outside of the tailgate, it does have the original spare tire mount on the inside of the rear tailgate. Depending on how you plan on using this Bronco you may decide a spare is not needed which will leave you lots of storage behind the rear seat. As you will see in the interior pics below the inside of this Bronco looks awesome and is very original in appearance overall....check it out!
At this point hopefully you will agree that this Bronco looks awesome inside and out and maybe you are wondering how good it runs and drives. Well, no disappointments here. The previous owner was told that the original 302 V8 was rebuilt in 2010 and has approximately 5000 miles on it since the rebuild. This motor runs very strong and feels very stock. The automatic transmission shifts beautifully. you may not know this but prior to 1973 all Broncos were only available in a 3-sped manual. Quite a few were converted to automatics including this one. Correct automatic steering column and shifter so most people would have no idea. Power steering makes handling this lifted 4x4 quite easy with just minor play as is very common. Power front disc brakes were also added which make stopping a breeze. This Bronco really handles the road beautifully and cruises at 70 mph very comfortably. It also runs nice and cool and I have had it out on 95 degree days with no issues with overheating. This Bronco has a great stance thanks to the 4" Rancho suspension lift and RS5000 shocks. Brand new set of 305/70/16 BFG All Terrain Radials were just put on the 16" polished aluminum American Racing wheels. Four wheel drive engages nicely if needed. This Bronco has also been nicely detailed under the hood so you will be proud to pop the hood at local shows and cruise ins. We also added the hydraulic hood props to the really heavy steel hood. No rust in the corners of the inner fenders in the engine bay as so many have. When the new hood was added we did not install the windshield washer squirters. The undercarriage of this Bronco is another strong point. Floorpans appear to be all original with no rust issues even on the front angled pans which is so common on these Early Broncos. The undercarriage has been nicely detailed as well. Brand new dual exhaust from front to rear with nice sounding turbo mufflers. Make sure you listen to the video that follows to hear how grew this Bronco sounds. Just a great running Bronco that is ready to be driven and enjoyed and will surely accumulate its share of trophies at the shows if that is what you enjoy.
