Ford Mustang 1971 Description
This is an original red w/black interior 1971 Boss 351. It's listed with the Boss 351 registry. Typical Mustang rust areas, ut structure is overall sound. If you are afraid of body repairs this is not for you.
It will need a complete restoration, ut well worth the effort. The frame rails are not rusted, ut will require some repairs due to someone getting too aggressive with some tie downs. Needs some cowl repair, nd radiator support, n addition to the obvious stuff.
I have a correct original Boss 351 long block and it’s fairly clean, ut will likely need re-building (Sorry no picture, t's in storage). I don't think it's original to the car, ut I’ve verified all the engineering numbers with the Boss 351 registry website. There is a VIN # on the block, ut it is unreadable. There is a non-boss Cleveland motor in the car which I will remove. I have a non-working rev limiter, ut I will have to look for it.
I have an original D1ZF-ZA carburetor with the ULTRA-RARE blue anodized ID tag still on it.The difference between having a nice Boss and a GREAT Boss is having this original carb. Haveexhaust manifolds, nd the correct D1 distributor.
Don't make the mistake of spending way more than I'm asking for a Boss with a pretty paint job, ut missing a correct Boss engine and the rare, xpensive parts like the carb. The carb alone would easily go for $3-4,000. The distributor $1,000...The sheet metal and paint is relatively cheap and easy to fix, nd there's lots of it available.
The rest of the drive train, ncluding trans, hifter, peed reducer, nd rear axle appears to be original.
I HAVE VERIFIED ALL NUMBERS ON THE CAR AGAINST THE INVOICE AND MARTI REPORT (see pics).
The seats are not pictured, ut I have them and the interior trim panels.
I have a set of what I believe are correct floor pans for it.
There are very, ery few Boss 351 project cars like this left. 1806 were built, nd there are about 600 remaining. There may be a couple here or there, ut that's all there is.
I have a crazy work schedule, and a ton of Mustang parts in storage), o it may take a few weeks to get everything together. Only selling because I have many other project cars to work on, ncluding a really nice 69 Mustang.
I have some wiggle room on price but, font>LOW BALL OFFERS WILL BE IGNORED. Frankly, f you're not calling me on the phone with questions, ou're probably not serious.
