Ford Other 1951 Description
Surf’s up and thisWoody wagon is ready! Rosner MotorSports is pleased to offer this immaculate1951 Ford Country Squire. This is the last year for the famous Ford Woodywagon. Ford Motor Company built thebodies in Dearborn, nd then completed the wooden portion of the body in IronMountain, ichigan. Ford’s Iron Mountain facility in the Upper MichiganPeninsula was situated in a 500 acre forest that provided the maple, irch, basswood and gum used to build the woody body. The light, ood frame is made ofmaple and complemented with mahogany panels.
Our Woody is poweredby the original flathead V8 engine producing 100 horsepower. The flathead isbacked up by a three speed column shifted, anual transmission. Our wagon isfinished in the original Hawthorne green and it is a restored, tock vehiclewith minor upgrades for reliability and drivability. The car does have dual, lass-packmufflers that give it a very pleasant, ostalgic exhaust note.
This terrific Country Squire was sold new inMichigan and remained there through 2007. It was restored in Michigan andbecame the cover car, eature story in the September 2005 issue of Hemming’sclassic Car magazine.
