Ford Crown Victoria 1956 Description
1956 Ford Crown Victoria 2 door coupe V-8 312cid/215hp 4bbl carburetor Red and White offered for sale AS-IS-WHERE-IS
This car would be classified by Hagertys as a number 3 car. Number #3 cars could possess some, ut not all of the issues of a #4 car, ut they will be balanced by other factors such as a fresh paint job or a new, orrect interior. #3 cars drive and run well, ut might have some incorrect parts. These cars are not used for daily transportation but are ready for a long tour without excuses, nd the casual passerby will not find any visual flaws. "Good" is the one word description of a #3 car.
Recent Hagerty's value for a 1956 Ford Crown Victoria is $28,300 dollars. This value has remained stable since 2012 showing almost no variation over the three year period. In 2010 the value was $27,700 showing a stable value for a five year period. This vehicle presents a bit over the #3 classification on the side of a #2 classification ($38,200 dollars). The Fair market value of this vehicle would be $29,800 dollars
Negative observations:
This vehicle has few flaws. There are a few paint chips around hood closure area and a couple of other minor paint flaws.
The rear window has some scratches on driver's side (see photo # )
The cast housings for the front turn signals show significant pitting (zoom in on photo # )
The oil pressure light is not functioning so evaluation of oil pressure could not be made.
The heat indicator is stuck on the "hot" position.
The exhaust system is not "stock" and is somewhat loud.
Positive observations:
This vehicle presents very nicely. The paint looks fresh and most of the chrome and stainless steel trim is very good to good. Interior is very good and was redone in 2008. The exterior restoration was done in 2008. The vehicle has been kept in a air-conditioned garage since the restoration.
The vehicle appears to have all the correct parts. It may be a numbers matching vehicle but this has not been researched or verified.
The engine runs well with some smoke on start-up. (The vehicle had not been run in about 8 months at the time of evaluation.) After a warm-up period, otor idled smoothly and did not smoke.
The vehicle drives well, t tracks true, ngine pulls strong and automatic transmission shifts smoothly.
The vehicle has an aftermarket "glass pack" exhaust.
Summary:
With some minor improvements this vehicle could compete quite successfully in local and regional shows. It is quite "eye-catching" and fun to drive. It would be a popular attraction at a cruise-in or at rally events.
Vehicle is available for local pick-up or delivery by common vehicle transport carrier
