Ford F-250 1970 Description
This is a great project truck and very rare. The previous owner started the restoration process and my plan was to complete it when I purchased it. Well after 1 divorce, marriage and a 4th child later.......I haven't touched it in the last several years and I need the cash to pay the X.
When purchased the engine ran and you could drive it up and down the street. The engine started right up a couple weeks ago when I went to check on it. It is stored under a covered car port at a friends house. I removed the brake master cylinder and purchased a new one a couple years ago. This has not been installed and therefore the brakes don't currently work. All 4 tires are dry rotted and will not hold air.
In my opinion, o get it where you could drive it up and down the street you would need to do the following: purchase/install a new battery; clean the carburetor; basic fluid change; install the new brake master cylinder and bleed the brakes; purchase/install 4 tires. This is not to get it street legal and to become a daily driver, his is just to get it where it can be driven a block or two.
This is a restoration project and therefore needs full restoration. Please look at all of the pictures as they tell the whole story. 99% of all of the parts are there. I have not cataloged them, ut most of the exterior trim parts, nterior trim parts and exterior door handles are all there. The previous owner took these off and they are in the back seat with several other extra/spare parts. I make no guarantee regarding what part is there or not. The frame and body are solid and I cannot find any rust issues (just surface rust here and there. The floor pans are solid. I believe the truck has a '69 grill, 69 step side bed from a 1/2 ton truck and the suspension has been converted to a 1/2 ton. My understanding is that this is done by switching out the axels and shocks/springs. Once again, his is all what I have been told and was all done prior to me purchasing this truck.
Based on the vin F25YCH90228, he truck is an F250-2wd-360 cid 8 cyl-Made in Ontario, anada in April of 1970. This is based on information found on the following link http://www.fordification.com/tech/VIN70.htm The VIN on the title matches the VIN on the frame.
Thank you for considering this rare and very cool truck!
