There were only 2. 39 (total for all body styles and engines) Bright Gold Metallic Mustangs produced in 1970. Add in the fact that there were only 1371 Total Cobra Jet 4 Speed Mustangs produced in 1970 and this Mach 1 is very likely a 1 of 1. The restoration was done in 2002 and has been garage stored since. This car is an astounding 8-time MCA Regional Concourse Trailered Gold Winner. To document this. the judged sheets accompany the car. The body on this Mach 1 appears just as it did back in the fall of 1969 when it was produced. Repainted in the correct single stage paint and with just the right amount of ‘orange peel’ it is just as it was on the showroom floor. Panels are of course excellent with correct factory alignment specs. The undercarriage has been painted in the correct ‘Red Oxide’ with the original paint markings and seam sealer applications. Inside the interior is incredibly nice with proper upholstery and trim. The factory gauges were restored and are beautifully framed by the restored chrome instrument bezel. Correct reproduction tags and even the steering wheel pre-delivery protector are installed. The factory clock works. The 428 Cobra Jet engine was completely rebuilt to stock specs with the exception of a Comp Dual Energy camshaft (for a little better sound & performance). The correct components are all there such as the Shaker. Holley Carburetor. Dual Point Distributor. CJ Exhaust Manifolds. Smog System and Finned Aluminum Valve Covers. It is correctly detailed with the proper hose clamps. ink & chalk stampings. decals and paint colors. The large input Super Top Loader 4-Speed Transmission was also rebuilt and properly detailed. It is shifted through the correct Hurst Competition-Plus Shifter. The 31-Spline Nodular Case 9” differential is present and correctly detailed in ‘Red Oxide’ with the correct paint stripes & chalk marks.
