It was built to compete in Concours competition in the modified class. This is a correct. original car with 292 Y-Block engine coupled to the Ford-O-Matic transmission with the following exceptions which are not stock on a ’55 Thunderbird-The Continental Kit. which was not offered on the 55 T-Bird. A 1990’s AM/FM cassette radio from a Thunderbird of that vintage. The door of the tape deck is branded with the Thunderbird logo. This stereo was installed without making any cuts or alterations to the dash so the install is fully reversible. Kelsey Hayes wire wheels. including the wheel on the spare tire. A gorgeous Pearl White paint jobUpon completion of the total restoration the odometer was set to 0. befitting of a restoration of this caliber. and since that day only 2. 00 miles have been put on the car. While my shop did not do the restoration on this car. the caliber. fit and finish of the restoration is exceptional and it’s a job I would be proud to call mine.
