Ford Mustang 1987 Description

This Mustang has been in my family since NEW! My dad bought it in April 1987 from Olympia Fields Ford in Illinois after selling his baby Canary Yellow 68 Mustang Conv. Only he and my mother drove the car in spring and summer. averaging 5. 00mi. a year. This car was in one accident that I can recall when my dad was side swiped by a deer on the freeway. Deer took out front fender and put a dent in hood from his head hitting the hood. MINOR DENT! Also the windshield cracked and glass was replaced with original FoMoCo glass that has mustangs etched into glass near cowl. Fender was an aftermarket reproduction! All other paint is original 28yr old Ford paint. Hence the peeling on hood and truck area. It spent most of its life in the midwest and in a garage. however there are some minor rust issues. Rust on drivers door as pictured as well as inner lower door seam. Around rear fender wheel well. Interior is all original other than top replacement which was done 10yrs ago in grey. Original top was similar blue as car. Dad wanted a change from the original top color! After doing the top in 2005 he sold me the car saying. "My age is catching up with me and if I continue to drive this car the way I like to I will kill myself". Anyway I started doing some typical minor mods to the car. All done by a licensed mechanic. I did the following work:Steeda Subframes braces and seat crossbracesSteeda Strut tower baceSteeda caster/camber platesSteeda Aluminum radiatorSteeda polyurathane motor mountsFoMoCo New oil panFoMoCo Ceramic Shorty HeadersMagnaflow cat back x-pipe Stainless exhaust ( No cats on car )Tokico Struts/ShocksSteeda Sport SpringsSteeda Front sway bar w/ aluminum bracketsFoMoCo Blue hoses and plug wiresMass air conversion w/ cold air intakeR134 A/C conversion5 Star Pony rims BBK White face gauge kit and recalibrated tach and speedometerSteeda aluminum upper and lower rear control armsRecently Rebuilt rearend with all original parts stock 2. 74 gearsRecently refilled hydralic fluid in convertible top. Timing was advanced and now runs on 93octane!Car runs very strong and sounds great. Aftermarket radio crapped out so it has been removed. Some drain holes in cowl got clogged and the passenger rear carpet was soaked. I cut out that section of carpet to make sure there was no mold growth. Brakes are good. Tires could use new rubber. I would not hesitate driving this car across country. Motor. Trans and clutch have never been apart. Windows all work. Cruise works. AC needs recharging. Heat works well. Still have a set of the original door & ignition keys! I was going to keep and restore cosmetically back to its former glory but 2 kids under 4 and a older home that requires attention!
