Ford Ranchero 1978 Description

I'm sorry to say that I have to re-list my Ranchero GT thanks to a deadbeat who bid at the last second and stole the auction from several legit ebayers. only to then completely ignore my requests for payment over the past two days. Their ebay account was 10 years old but only had 1 feedback . go figure. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 10 POSITIVE FEEDBACKS IN YOUR EBAY RATING. PLEASE DO NOT BID WITHOUT FIRST SENDING ME A NOTE THROUGH THE MESSAGING SYSTEM WITH YOUR NAME AND TELEPHONE NUMBER. I WILL THEN CALL YOU TO CONFIRM THAT YOU ARE. IN FACT. A SERIOUS BUYER WHO WILL COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION. SHOULD YOU WIN. IF YOU DO PLACE A BID WITHOUT SENDING YOUR CONTACT INFO FIRST. I WILL CANCEL IT AND BLOCK YOU FROM FURTHER DISRUPTING THIS AUCTION. OK. then. Scroll through the 70+ huge. hi-res pics below. and if you're really interested. just send me a note through the ebay messaging and I'll shoot back a link to the my Google+ album with all 113 pics I took this afternoon. I don't know much about this truck's history. but I'll tell you what I do know in my full description after the pics. For now. here are the highlights:Relatively new shiny non-metallic black paint jobSemi-custom interior with extremely comfortable all-leather bucket seats in "as new" condition. (They're even electric!)Newer carpetNewer "old school" Cragar chrome wheels in perfect condition (missing center cap is already on order and goes with truck)Matching set of Daytona tires (white letters turned in)NEW carburetor. starter. alternator. distributor. plugs. plug wires. distributor cap/rotor. and battery. runs great! I may not know much about the ownership history on this Ranchero. but I do know that it’s completely bad ass in virtually every way. Oh. and it draws a major amount of attention when cruising downtown Palm Springs. I suspect the same will happen in your hometown. It’s sinister. not subtle … loud. not lame. I ran the VIN through the Ford registry website and it confirms that it's not only a legitimate GT. but that it has the super rare and highly prized 351-modified 400 c. i. engine. Whoever customized it. though. made some decisions that … let’s just say I wouldn’t have made. Example: the color has been changed both inside and out. I believe this truck was originally red over red. If you study the interior shots. every once in a while you'll see a little red spot peeking through on a plastic trim piece or maybe the top of the dash near the windshield. There aren't many and they're small. but they're there so I want to point them out. I may not notice every tiny imperfection. but I always report what I see/know and let my extremely detailed pics tell the rest of the story. It's in damn nice shape overall and would make an exceptional daily driver. It runs great. now that I had the carburetor rebuilt and replaced the starter. alternator. distributor. plugs. plug wires. distributor cap/rotor and battery. If you’re a stickler for originality. then this really isn't the truck for you. This IS the truck for you if you’re just looking for a fun toy in great. "get-in-and-drive" shape that's guaranteed to draw major attention. Ranchero GT's that look this good don't grow on trees!Bottom line: here's are the top 5 reasons why if you love the 77-79 Rancheros. you should strongly consider bidding:Even though it's too old to be verified by Carfax. the 100% rust free status of this truck strongly indicates a lifetime in Southern California. The truck is straight as an arrow. There are a few dings. but it's clearly never been wrecked. Again. can't prove it. but I strongly suspect the 63. 00 miles are real. It is. however. a 5-digit odometer. so no guarantees. 1978 is the next to last and one of the most collectible years for the Ranchero. and this one is a GT with the super rare 351-modified . or 400 c. i. engine. And yes. it's fast. I've owned 50-60 or more cars and trucks over the past 30 years. and this is one of the top 3 most attention getting automobiles of them all. And I've owned some nice rides. too. There's just something sinister and bad ass about it. People literally stare with their mouths hanging open whenever I cruise it around town!If you have any questions. I'll do my best to answer them. If you want to talk to me about the truck. send a note through ebay messaging and I'll shoot back my number. And finally. if you want to see the entire google+ album of all 113 pics showing every conceivable angle. send a note through ebay because apparently you can no longer include live links in your auctions. Thanks for your interest and good luck!
