Do you want a 4x4? Or do you want it all in one original vintage package like this Ford Bronco?Broncos are a bit of a specialty at Streetside Classics. and so we get excited when we see one loaded with original options. In the case of a vehicle like this that's built for utility. the extras are often about adding personality with brightwork chrome bumpers. hubcaps. rocker panels. side molding. door frames. and passenger side mirror. All of this silver bling is a nice contrast to the original color copper paint. Despite all of this shine. there is a feeling of straightforward honesty in the design of every 1st generation Bronco. The uncluttered straight lines give this classic utility vehicle strength in both appearance and function. Our Bronco feels like it has all the country grit of the Marlboro Man except this one doesn't smoke anything like the Marlboro Man. Inside there were even more option boxes checked at the Ford dealer. This one has interesting features like the original AM/FM radio (still playing tunes today). premium steering wheel with chrome ring. and sports-style bucket seats. There are also features for everyday convenience like the three-speed automatic transmission and power brakes. This classic Bronco even has an air conditioning unit installed and ready to be hooked up. If this Bronco seems more like a complete vehicle than just something purely utilitarian. the pictures should solidify this feeling. The full carpeting. rear bench seat. and coordinating interior panels are the kind of features more likely found in a sports car than a truck. In fact. Broncos have full dual personality. The steel roof is easily removed to turn this classic off-roader into a full-open "convertible". This one was outfitted with a roll bar for added safety. There's one last option of note. and it's a big one. The 302 cubic inch V8 really gives this classic utility vehicle the power to keep up with today's traffic. In 2007 the motor in this Bronco was removed. given a full refresh. and then carefully reinstalled (check the included receipts for details. ) This helps ensure that the powerplant is churning out as many ponies as possible without ruining the overall original appearance. The hardy motor is especially nice to have when taking this 4x4 off road. It might seem scary to take such a pristine vehicle into the rough unknown. but that's exactly what these were built to handle. The short wheelbase is ideal for scaling obstacles. and the mechanical pieces are shared across the Ford's robust truck line. This means even though 1st generation Broncos are becoming more rare everyday (less than 22. 00 were sold in 1973. finding replacement parts are often quite simple. This is a high-optioned 4x4 that feels original down to the included owner's manual and warranty card. It is the kind of Bronco that any purist that sees it can't pass up.
