What we have here is a 1940 Ford 1/2 ton pickup truck with 200 miles on the odometer since an extensive frame-off restoration. The truck is finished in Teal blue and has a complementary Teal Blue Interior. Overall, his truck is stunning and original.
This 1940 Ford 1/2 ton pickup truck was bare frame-off restored in the late 1990's. It was used for a couple of summers in parades and other summertime events and then put into storage where it sat in a garage for close to 15 years only to be started and driven very short distances. The truck finally sat too long and the brakes failed as did the fuel system. After the current owner acquired the truck, e spent the better part of the winter in 2014 working over all the issues that needed to be resolved with the goal being to end up with a worry-free, un anytime truck that could be enjoyed without concern about reliability.
As such, he brake system is all new, nd the fuel tank, ines, ump and carburetor have been replaced NOS. This old truck now runs so quiet you can hardly hear it - which is common with a well maintained Ford V8 Flathead. The truck is all numbers correct with the exception of the distributor which has been rebuilt with electronic components eliminating the points and the coil has been upgraded to work with the distributor; the distributor is from a 1946 Ford V8. This essentially "New" 1940 Ford 1/2 ton pickup runs and drives beautifully - even with the original tire type and brakes.
