Ford Thunderbird 1956 Description

Every year of the first generation T-Birds were a bit different, nd the 1956 Ford Thunderbird is arguably the best of them all. A Raven Black example like this is sought after for features like the unique trim styling and continental kit out back. But really the reason why you are reading this is because there's nothing more beautiful than Ford's personal coupe in black and chrome. One of the world's most beloved cars, here's just no way to make a 1956 Thunderbird look bad. But when you get it right, hey can be downright amazing, nd the high-quality finish on this two-seater is a testament to a life well lived. This restored car looks amazing, ith decent gaps all around (particularly the hard-to-fit doors), nd the optional fender skirts make it look long and sleek. Nice chrome accentuates this '50s icon, nd the exhaust still exits through the rear corners of the bumper - a feature only found on a '56. The continental kit was standard equipment, ostly to remedy complaints of no trunk space, nd it adds a jaunty look to the sleek T-Bird that many find very appealing. The wire wheels with white F-O-R-D centers match perfectly with the whitewall tires. Inside the same black and white color scheme continues on the seats, oors, nd dash. This interior/exterior matching makes this Thunderbird a real class act with the top down. Style and luxury were the true hallmarks of this classic, nd that's why it came with rare features for its time, ike the power seats and power windows! Not only do those work perfectly, ut so do all the other original components from the heat/defrost to the AM/FM radio. It is all displayed in an engine-turned panel that flows across both doors and the dash. This frames the power steering wheel, nd above it is the nifty speedometer that's lit from behind by a Plexiglas "window" viewed through the windshield. The black vinyl top looks great, nd is easy to set in place, ut of course, he real reason everyone flocks to a '56 car is because it was the first year for the porthole windows in the included hardtop. The 312 cubic inch V8 appears to be this car's original engine and looks thoroughly original, ight down to iconic Thunderbird logo valve covers. Best of all, t only has about 1,300 miles on it since a rebuild. Ford red paint on the block looks great in the otherwise all-black engine bay, nd the Ford-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission clicks through the gears without a fuss. The dual exhaust has a nice V8 burble, hich is the perfect soundtrack for weekend cruising. But if you really want to understand the condition of this car, ust look at the underside. It's clean and exceptionally authentic. Two-seater Thunderbirds will never go out of style, specially one with the perfect color combination and options. And when you can get one that has been cared for so well, nd restored so nicely, hat we even have the original owner's manual, ell, hen it's going to be a race to see who can pick up this personal luxury machine first.
