FOR SALE BY OWNER
1947 Ford Business Coupe built to perfection by Barry Lobeck of Lobeck's V8 shop from an original rust free Arizona car. Many subtle body mods made to the zero patch panel body including: hood and deck lid shaved, cowl vent removed with hood center trim extended, bumpers smoothed and narrowed, '49 chevy rear license plate bumperette added, custom gas filler, nbsp;fender side trim removed. Custom front turn signals hidden in front fenders. Painted in a PPG 79 Ford truck red with all body fits and door gaps perfect.
Chassis is completely custom built, C-notched in front with front cross member raised with a Mustang II front suspension with power rack, custom tubular cross and K-members, 8" Ford rear with 3.23 gears on parallel leaf springs, front and rear sway bars, front disc and rear drum brakes, stainless brake lines, custom gas tank, and a stainless exhaust system that is a work of art. For a quieter ride additional body mounts were added.
Upholstery is beautiful done in a taupe pleather with matching wool carpet. Front and rear seats are custom fitted Cadillac with front power seat controls moved to the inside console. Power window switches that control the slightly tinted windows are concealed below the custom door arm rests. High lighting the interior is a custom hand formed dash fitted with VDO gauges and custom trim that runs into door and rear panels, a thundering JVC custom sound system, an Ididit tilt steering column with Billet banjo wheel. Vintage air, heat and defrost, cruise control and 2 speed electric wipers are additional creature comforts in this rattle free ride.
The engine is a high output crate motor GM 350 horsepower 350 cubic inch with aluminum heads fitted with an Edelbrock 600 carburetor, Accel ignition, Mooneyes valve covers, an original 56 Cadillac air cleaner modified to fit, HPC coated headers all backed up by a TH350 trans. Walker radiator and Spal electric fan keep it running at 180 degrees.
Additional features include power remote keyless entry as well as manual door openers, Lokar trunk release, electric and manual hood releases, bearclaw latches, an 8 CD changer mounted in trunk, spare tire holder and Optima battery in trunk, and polished Torq thrust wheels.
This car is an outstanding driver that is an extremely comfortable ride that has been previously featured in Street Rodder and rod and Custom Magazines. A top 25 at Pigeon Forge and a pros pick at Indy. All build pictures and receipts come with car. This car is not bagged and has a perfect stance. It looks great sitting still or driving. No need to pull in and drop the car for it to look good. The car drives and handles great! You'll be hard pressed to find a nicer '47 business coupe of this quality. Change the wheels to a set of steelies with wide whites or a set of salt flats for a completely different look.
Naturally I reserve the right to end the auction at any time and the car leaves after all funds clear.
If you are looking for an excellent high end car at a reasonable price that you can hop in and drive this is the one for you! Thanks for looking. Carl 215-669-4747
