Ford Other 1955 Description

Originally owned by a Lady in San Diego California, having been stored and driven minimally over 60 years, this is a very unique low mileage example of Ford's Customline Sedan with many nice upgrades. Iconic in its Forrest Green finish (Ford F Code) and a very original interior which is in excellent condition, it illustrates pretty much how the car appeared after it was manufactured. The Customline's paint has been refreshed at some point in time in its life, and shows quite nicely. There is no evidence of any previous body damage or filler. The floors, quarter panels, doors, ody mounts, frame, uspension, trunk, fenders and overall sheet metal are very solid and in very nice condition. There appears to be some minor rust coming from a few spots on the rockers, which can be easily and inexpensively corrected if you choose to do so. I may address it prior to auction end if I can coerce my body shop to take care of it in a timely manner. Chrome is average and stainless is in excellent condition as is all the glass, lenses, and weatherstrips. Powered by a 272 cubic inch "Y" block V8, some nice additions have been made inclusive of vintage original Fenton finned valve covers, Red's exhaust headers coupled to new dual exhaust, new water pump, six blade cooling fan, new fuel/vacuum pump, new hoses and belts, and much much more. For all the 272 engines I have owned, this is probably the quickest and most responsive one I have experienced. The exhaust exudes a wonderful tone to it when accelerating and cruising. Wheels and and tires are 15 inch equipped with almost new whitewall radial tires, chrome hubcaps and original metal rear fender skirts providing for that "Cruiser" look. The Ford Customline's electrical system has been completely upgraded to a 12 Volt system. All the lights and controls work as originally designed. The 1955 Ford Customline will come with a "boatload" (actually the trunk) of spare parts inclusive of the original manifolds and crossover pipe, trim pieces, repair shop manuals, four barrel intake manifold and many other parts, too numerous to list herein. Please bear in mind, this is a very original 60 year old car, not concourse but a highly respectable quality driver with a nice pedigree. I have a copy of the California Title which goes with the car, and the subsequent Massachusetts title issued recently upon arrival in the Commonwealth. The Ford Customline will be sold as is where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. I furthermore reserve the right to end the auction early given the car is for sale locally and advertised on other sales venues worldwide. I respectfully suggest personal inspection prior to auction end, or by an appointed qualified representative of your choosing. Inspection as a condition of sale will not be permitted after auction end. Please feel free to contact me with any questions (other than what my reserve is....please). I'll be happy to answer them. Thank you again, and best of luck. Chris. 413-575-8600 No texts please
