Ford Other 1940 Description
1940 FORD DELUXE COUPEPlease check out all of the photos carefully. If you have any questions, lease ask and I will answer them as completely as I am able.
This is a pretty decent old Ford coupe. Absolutely perfect for a hot rodder as all the "bones" are there to make yourself a cool car.
I am listing this car without reserve. Plus, he starting bid is more than reasonable as any person that knows anything about these realizes. I am only listing this car as the reality of ever restoring it is becoming more of a fantasy. I have four other '40 Fords under restoration and well, omething simply has to give. I ain't getting any younger ya know....
Please note the vent window frames are included as are a nice pair of head lamp bucket assemblies. Plus, he ash trays, nstrument cluster, love box lid & hinge are part of the deal as well.
Door gaps are very nice. Hinge pins are in great shape. Window regulators, oor latches, tc. are all intact. Doors close nicely.
Trunk lid outer skin is very nice. Inner skin is poopy. It's quite repairable but currently it is poopy.
Original frame is pretty darn nice. Engine and transmission were removed. Differential, ncluding torque tube, tc. is intact. It is a 3:78 ratio and in good shape.
Tires all hold air quite well and have decent tread.
Firewall is pretty darn nice - never cut up. Tool tray is very solid.
Dash board and steering column is very nice.
Running boards are pretty nice. However, hey are reproduction.
Hood is very nice. That "brown" appearance on the underside in the photo is paint, OT rust. Sorry, am not a good photographer by any means.
I have the 59AB that I'd removed from this car. IF the winning bidder wnats it, t is available for an additional $500. I have a transmission for it as well and if you buy the engine, 'll include a (used) transmission.
I have a clear and correct title for this car of course.
Okay, ere's the so called "fine print":
I think the $8000 starting bid is a bargain and have NO RESERVE. Yes, f course I am hoping it goes a lot higher than that. Mostly because I have a lot more than that in it.
If in fact I only get the minimum bid, o be it... you will get the car. A "deal is a deal".
What I expect from the buyer is a $500 (paypal) deposit within 24 hours of the auctions end. No excuses, 4 hours. The balance must be paid within five (5) days of the auctions end. I accept money orders, ashiers checks, ire transfers (preferred) but understand the car will not be released prior to any payment method being "cleared". I do not accept cash.
If you miss either "deadline" without making an agreement with me, ou will loose the deposit and / or the opportunity to obtain this car. I deal "straight"and expect the same from you.
Understand like any "old car" this is sold "as-is", where-is".
You buy it... it is yours.
I am more than willing to help arrange transportation and load the car.
I am located within five minutes of the Interstate (I-94) at the very southeast corner of Wisconsin. About eight minutes from the Illinois border.
