Ford F-150 1993 Description

Please be sure to have financing spousal permission or any other issues in order before clicking "Buy It Now". Clicking "Buy It Now" is like shaking somebody's hand. Enough said. Before we begin I want you to know that like you I'm a classic car and truck fanatic. I've also been an eBayer since early 1998 and take pride in only receiving positive feedback over the last 17+ years. I've owned dozens of cars over the years and have made many sight unseen deals (many here on eBay) to acquire or sell cars across the country.

In addition I strongly believe in the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words." The Internet has allowed us in our hobby to search for cars nationwide and it's my hope to make you as comfortable as possible with this purchase. I own this truck and I personally took all of the photographs and video.

Please sit back with your favorite beverage and enjoy the lengthy description 7 embedded videos and 181 photos of this incredibly special survivor Raven Black / Smoke Metallic 1993 F150 XLT.

The Truck!

I have the honor of sharing an incredibly clean rust free survivor 1993 Ford F150 XLT Longbox pickup with you today.

The original elderly owner bought the truck from Hiller Ford in Franklin Wisconsin in July 1993 and owned it until his death in 2000. I sincerely wish I could have met the original owner. His detailed records really paint a picture of how particular he was and I think I would have made a friend. To help verify ownership history I purchased a CarFax report for the truck that I can email to you if you're a sincere buyer. The CarFax is completely clean.

The 2nd owner bought the truck with 70000 miles in August 2000 and only put about 28000 miles on it in 14 years. The 2nd owner kept the truck in heated storage. I purchased the truck last summer with just under 98000 miles on it and drove it until fall when I too put it in heated storage for the winter.

Also my understanding is the original owner drove the truck to Arizona in fall and came back to Wisconsin in late spring which is where many of his miles came from.

I have the window sticker for the truck service records and tons of receipts from over the years. I even have the newspaper ad from when the truck was sold to the 2nd owner in 2000.

The documentation is extensive and tells a great story of this well-cared for truck. My favorite piece is a receipt from Hiller Ford when the truck was just a few months old. The original owner felt the bench seat didn't have enough padding in the seat and demanded additional foam be added! The dealer comments are pretty funny and it's clear they weren't happy about doing this under warranty.

As you know these 1992-1996 F150's are getting incredibly hard to find rust free unrestored condition. Because of their reliability these pickups were driven two and three hundred thousand miles over the last 25+ years and only a handful seem to be around with low miles. Even fewer were used just for pleasure and weren't really used as pickups. This is one of those examples.

On top of its unrestored condition this F150 has the XLT package comes with gobs of paperwork like the original window sticker service records & receipts and it's Raven Black with the super rare Smoke Metallic lower. A black F150...does it get any better?

This truck was originally purchased as a Sunday driver and was never intended to be used as a daily driver. It shows just 98500 on it nearly 23 years later. The truck has only seen minimal foul weather over the years and has been stored winters since new. Inside and out this truck is a time capsule that runs and drives as good as it looks.

Exterior

This truck retains better than half its original paint but the driver's side has been sprayed early in life. the paint was done professionally as there's no overspray mask lines on emblems etc. The only indication I can find of any work is a very light mask line in the driver's door jamb.

There is NOTHING mentioned in the service records or receipts about the paint work so I suspect 1 of 2 things: the original elderly owner bumped something was embarrassed and never disclosed having any work done. OR something happened while the truck was at the dealer and it was sprayed before being sold new.

Again I'm disclosing this because I'd want to know ahead of time if I were purchasing the truck but honestly most people will never suspect any portion of the truck has been touched.

Painted in YC Raven Black with Smoke Metallic lower stripe this F150 seems to glow out in the sun. Many people refer to some paint as looking a "mile deep" but this truck honestly fits that description. I will refer you to the detailed photos below but the truck shows incredibly well.

There are NO signs of rust on the rockers wheel well lips cab corners or dog leg areas of the box. The body is straight the paint is swirl free and the doors close like they're new. Note in the photos that there appears to be very light bubbling of some paint on the rear of the cab where it extends underneath the truck. You don't see this unless you're underneath the truck and I suspect this area will not get any worse than its current state if the truck stays out of salt (IT BETTER!).

Looking at the trim the chrome looks bright and shows minimal wear. I show a photo of one wheel well molding that took a small bump at some point but that's really about it. the bottom of the front bumper shows a little light surface discoloration that can be seen in the photos.

As you're looking at the photos please remember that the truck is still nearly 23 years old and it isn't perfect. Notice there are a few paint chips and a few other light scratches that only show if you're inspecting the truck with your nose a foot away from the paint. Every person who has seen the truck has complimented it immensely but the truck has been driven a bit over the years so it isn't absolutely perfect. But with that said it still looks damn nice.

The box has been lightly used over the years and shows VERY nicely. When I purchased the truck the entire inside of the box was lined with blankets. It's pretty clear that this truck saw very little hauling over the years as I don't think I've never owned a truck with a box that looks like this.

Interior

Inside the F150 shows incredibly well too. The seat and the carpet actually look better than a 98000 mile truck to me. The truck smells fresh and pleasant and shows NO signs of ever being smoked in. How many trucks out there have never been smoked in? The seat shows little if any wear and the carpet is just gorgeous. The glass is nice and the door panels look really nice.

The dash is uncracked and all of the climate control vents operate properly. The headliner doesn't sag either. All power options work including the windows locks and mirrors. The radio works cruise works and all gauges operate properly including the tach. The AC blows cold. Please note in the photos that there is a switch mounted under the dash. I'm not sure what this powered but maybe there were fog lights on the truck at some point?

Engine and Mechanicals

The truck starts idles runs very smoothly. Quite frankly it drives better than any of the other 4 F150s I've owned over the years. The 302 is quiet the transmission shifts smoothly and the truck drives straight down the road. Please see the videos to view this truck in action.

I think what has impressed me most with this truck is how quiet it is. The suspension is tight there aren't things rattling around and it the truck rides much more like a car than a pickup. Again none of my other F150s rode like this truck so I'm pretty impressed with this pickup. Please check out the videos of the truck being driven for some other insight.

Under the hood note the photos of the factory hoses clamps and emissions equipment. Note how bright the plating is on under hood parts further documenting how much this truck has been babied. The underside of the hood is grease free as well as the inner fenders and hood hinges.

Undercarriage

The F150 was treated to factory or dealer undercoating as well as dealer applied rust-proofing. I've chosen to leave this truck untouched and HAVE NOT detailed the undercarriage. I could have very easily sprayed the frame rails springs and floors and most people would never know the difference. But there are more and more survivor enthusiasts out there who like their vehicles untouched so I'll leave any level of painting to the next owner.

With that said please note how many factory tags and inspection marks are still in place on this time capsule! The correct Ford exhaust is still in place as is the spare tire.

Bottom Line

If you've been looking for a survivor low mileage 1992-1996 regular cab F150 that has been cared for over the years please consider this one. It's truly a no excuses pickup truck that you can take to shows (AND WIN!) get decent mileage with and flip on the AC when it's warm out. It's new enough to be comfortable yet old enough for you to get compliments wherever you go.

I've done my best to describe this truck accurately and have included hundreds of photos and video to make a buyer as comfortable as possible with a purchase. If I can answer any other questions along the way please call me: 414-940-8848. My name is Jeff. I have some decent shippers I've worked with over the years who can help us make a long distance deal work too. Thanks for checking out my F150.
