Ford Bronco 1971 Description
302 V8- appears to becrate motor has Coyotemetal plate on drivers sidebut unsure how long ago it was replaced- total miles on the Broncois unknown
- 2bbl carb- 3 speed manual- Original column shift three on the tree- Dana 44 Front axle -stock this is a late 71 built in August of 1971 after Fordswitched to the stout Dana 44 - 9" Rear Diff -Stock 4:11 LS gears (limited slip stock Trac Loc) A3 axle code.
-True dual exhaust with headers
-Aluminum Mickey Thompson valve covers-Original stock steel wheels- rear tires will need replacing soon front have tread but also some cracking. Stock size of 235/75r15 -Manual steering/original steering wheel - originalFord horn buttontherebut the plastic retainer is broken so it does not stay on- this is a couple dollar part.
-Stock drum brakes on all four wheels- not the best brakes but I have gotten used to them.-Body is in good shape. some small dents here and there but nothing major and this is a pretty straight body what you see is what you get- appears to only have one repaint since new- Bahama Blue- has a lot of character as it sits. Some portionsof the paint areburnt through or cracked from sun. I like the way it is since it is rustic and tells of it's age. I thought about going Fast N Loud style and just clear coating it.
-Original hard top included appears to just be surface rust in the gutters small dent on the rear as seen in pic.Inside of top has been painted black. -Reupholstered front seats look very nice. The rear seat is from a Jeep with Corbeau seat cover (loose and needs to be bolted down)Herculinercovers the entire interior floor. New floor pans in the front driver and passenger side. A lot of NEW parts within the last month or so: Spark Plugs distributorcap rotor Taylor spark plug wires newcoil new radiator hoses thermostat drive belt fuel filterfresh oil change. Also just flushed the entire cooling system and installed a brand new high flow aluminum water pump. Original CA Blue plate vehicle- CLEAN title in hand and current registration paid through May 2016!
Dash padis cracked but it is original I believe. You can buy a cover for it or remove completely.
Rust has been cut out from what I can tell. Has patch on right inner fender panel new floor pans etc. Cowl and firewall are solid as are the door posts and door sills. Does have some small rust holes at the base of fenders as seen in the pics. Floor pans have been replaced and appear they were laid over the top of the old ones.
Driver and passenger mirrorsare worn out and don't stay in position for long.
Auxiliary gas tank was pulled from the truck and is missing sending unit. It will go with the Bronco and also has the metal skid plate.
Gauges stopped working but the odometer and speedometer still work.A brandnew temp gauge was added when coolant flush was done.
2bbl carb was taken off a 72 Bronco with the heat induced choke. This is currently not hooked up-It ran fineas is here is CA so I never messed with it.
Has headers and true dual exhaust truck is loud and headers have been patched. Permanent fix would be to weld or replace. I liked the sound so never got around to fixing.Dipstick tube is bent and needs straightening or replacement. Radio does not work speakers are not hooked up.
I have used the Bronco just to drive around town and never had it on the freeway.Goes through the gears fine. I never took off road in the time I had it. Keep asis for a piece of American history or restore and make into a $30K+ Bronco. If I can think of anything else I will add it later but I've tried to give all the details I can think of. Overall this truck is solid and does not appear to every have been wrecked since all panels fenders doors etc. appear to be the original color. Aside from the cut fenders this truck is pretty stock and has not been highly modified which would make for a driver as is or restore to your liking.
Bronco is listed locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early if sold in person before end of auction. $1000 deposit due within 48 hours of auction close.
On Jun-12-15 at 19:55:11 PDT seller added the following information:I will also throw in Tom's Bronco braided stainless steel brake lines for the front two drums I believe they run around $50 for the set. Also in looking at the starter and alternator they appear to be fairly new based on appearance alone. I also put in a brand new ground cable when the tune up items were completed as well as new radiator cap. The odometer reading above is slightlylower that what I had down it reads65806
As mentioned above this is an American classic that gets a ton of attention. Is the truck rust free no but as mentioned above as far as I can tell the rust has been cut out and or patched or replaced with new panels. I was just inside the bronco and noticed the kick panels appear to have rust holes at the base where they meet the floor pans which were painted over by Herculiner when the entire interior was lined. Also seemetal patches are in place on the front inner fenders wells wheredirt/mud hits when splashed up by the wheel. You could leave as is or buy any replacement panels needed online.I was told that the original owner had this Bronco up until about4-5 years ago when he gave it the his grandson. The grandson supposedly started fixing it up with the reupholstered seats rustrepair etc. He then sold to the guy that I bought it from so that would make me the 4th owner if the story holds true.Again if I think of anything else I will add it so bidders have all the informationpossible that I can think of. I love this Bronco but it's time to let it go to a new home. I wish the bidding well! Take care
On Jun-13-15 at 12:24:22 PDT seller added the following information:Reserve is off! Bid to own one of the most classic vehicles on the road today. There are not many Broncos left in such original condition and this one will be yours to the highest bidder! Thank you!
