Ford Other Pickups 1940 Description

After building several other street rods this was a five year attempt to build my version of the "Ultimate '40 Pickup". With the help of many talented friends I am proud to say it resulted in what you see here...a NSRA T-shirt car a Goodguy's "Coolest" pick a Portland Roadster show Best of Class (Radical Custom Street rod pickup) winner a Napa calendar car a "Cruzin" magazine cover car a display case full of some 50 + trophies and what I thought was the best compliment from thee "George Barris" "Pretty darn cool truck guy!" The drive train is pretty straight forward a aluminum radiator a balanced/blueprinted 355 Chevy small block a built 350 Turbo a "Fatman" tubular independent front end with coil overs power rack and pinion and power disc brakes. A parallel sprung 3:50 Ford 9" with sway bar power disc brakes all on "Weld" billet wheels with threaded on centers. The real labor of love (and expense) was in all of the all steel custom body modifications...shaved front bumper custom built grille center a peaked and extended sides hood (for a flush fit to the fenders)a filled cowl 3"chopped windshield with v-butted glass Carson lift off padded top (that fits in the bed) with an integrated roll bar suicide hard top power window doors 10 1/2" extended cab all custom sculpted tweed interior (look close for all the designs) milled aluminum "Dakota Digital" dash tilt wheel remote opening doorspadded metal side opening bed cover and gas filler door. A totally hand fabricated bed with modified passenger rear fenders with a hidden lower tool and battery storage custom 8 bulb flush mounted rear tail light over a frenched metal rear rolled pan. I didn't want it too obvious but I think every panel was modified one way or another on this truck. Everything is topped with super body work and then PPG Royal Twilight pearl paint with airbrushed "Asphalt" flamed graphics. I am sure there are more things I have left out. With five years of constant work and 25 years of money this truck has more than met all of my expectations. Always the under lying questions of what's wrong with it and if it is so great why are you selling it. I never put tunes in it (even on several smooth riding state wide crossings) I preferred to listen to FM "V-8" and never charged the "Vintage Air" (R-12) when it was "cooler" to just take the top off. I have found my challenge and satisfaction was in building the truck. And I am at a point where life is too short (to finish all of the other car projects) and my 7 car garage is too full. This is too great of a truck to be left as a "Trophy" in the corner of my shop. I never left a car show without winning something and was disappointed if it wasn't another "Best of Show". As usual it is "As is where is" warranty. I didn't build the car sell so I didn't take any short cuts on quality. I have set the reserve on the truck to sell it. If I can be of any futher help with additional questions please feel free to e-mail or call me at (509) 467-8773 I might consider an interesting part trade (love '32-34 Fords especially pickups). Thanks for looking Dave
