Ford Explorer 1991 Description

So many details... This Ford Explorer has been lifted 6 inches (4" SkyJacker Suspension Lift + 2" Wild Horses Body Lift). All new polyurethane bushings and hardware everywhere. The engine wiring harness and EEC IV computer came from a 1993 Ford Mustang GT. The engine and 3 Speed C4 Automatic transmission(from a 1977 Ford Bronco)have both been completely rebuilt. The 5.0L V8 engine ran well the last time it was started except for anintermittentcoolant temperature issue (see "Condition"). MSD Distributor and coil-packs. Custom 2.5" exhaust headers and dual tail pipes eliminate exhaust restriction and sound GREAT.The tires are 33" x 10.5" Goodyear BFGs mounted on stock rims. There are custom (2" thick) billet aluminum wheel spacers to widen the stance/footprint by 4"... and the Bushwacker fender flares cut-down mud splatter (to help you see out the side windows). The stock rear-end was upgraded with LOCKING (not "open" or "limited slip") 4.10 gears. The front axle has matching OPEN 4.10 gears. With this configuration the truck climbs hills like a champ and runs down the highway at about 3000 RPMs. For "long distance" driving different gears would be a good idea. For off-road and off-the-line performance the 4.10s are perfect. The paint is DuPont Chromabase (Orion Silver) over black epoxy primer. The metallic green effect is achieved with House of Kolor Emerald Green Kandy with gold metal flakes mixed in. There is a little rust bubbling-up near the gas tank filler cover and the fender flares need a little attention but otherwise the truck body is in pretty good shape. This truck has been stored in a heated garage for the past 10 years. The automatic (crappy) Ford "push-button" 4x4 system has been replaced with a manual system consisting of a rebuilt Dana 20 transfer case(1977 Bronco) that has also been modified to allow independentaxle control. The front hubs are Warn manual lock-outs.The stock A/C system has been removed to make room for the 5.0L V8 conversion. Fuel system is stock right up to the 5.0L fuel rails & pressure regulator. There have been no fuel "starvation" issues.Over $15000 invested in this truck but it MUST GO NOW. Therefore NO RESERVE. Highest bidder gets it.
