Ford Ranchero 1977 Description

Here is a well cared for Ranchero what some of the TV shows would call an honest car: It hasn't been repaired and painted many times but is in mostly original condition. The car belonged to my friend for many years and it was his pride and joy. He doesn't remember much but does remember spending $2500 on the custom flames painted over the original paint in the 1980s. The clear coat is now peeling.Other touches were done to make this Ranchero special like the T'bird floor shifter a Mallory tach in the dash that looks factory and a LeCarra steering wheel. The center cap on the steering wheel is missing but there are lots of inexpensive choices on ebay or change back to an original which might add value to such an original car. Alloy wheels are typical style from this time period and I think look perfect. I have tested a small area and they will really polish up nice.Car has recently had work done to make it reliable and enjoyable. The car was not used for some years so the fuel system has been gone through with a new fuel pump hoses andcarburetor rebuild. Power steering hoses were alsochanged. The AC pump turns freely but the system has lost pressure over the years.Milage is 89800 miles which I believe is correct judging from the overall condition. The interior is one of the nicest original interiors you will find andindicative of a vehicle with this milage. Door gaps are good and the doors open with no dropping from worn hinges. Dash is uncut with the original radio and cigarette lighter. Radio does not work but I think it may be just disconnected as there is a 'secret' radio with aftermarket speakers fitted behind the seats.Drives great with no rattles squeaks knocks vibrations jolts etc. as good as a vehicle of this milage should in fact better than my father-in-laws 40000 mile .its.b.s.. Galant. A bit 'floaty' typical of any full size car from this time period but that is part of the charm.Car does have dents in the front fender and tailgate and shown in the pictures but the pictures also show how straight the body is for a 38 year old truck. I live close to Mexico and have thought about having the car painted there especially when I see just painted Rancheros going for $6000 plus. Selling the car in this condition gives a new owner choices plus you know the new paint isn't covering rust. Bumpers and trim chrome is good enough for adriver. No damage to the bumpers or other trim pieces but the left front parking light lens is cracked. If you need the vehicle to be shipped or transported I will keep garaged till the transporter can pick it up but full payment due within 7 days. For California buyers: Car issmogged and registered. Original blue plate is missing from front but I can supply a duplicate if needed.
