Ford Thunderbird 1955 Description
Hello All!I am selling a great 1955 Ford Thunderbird restoration project. I bought it a few months ago and have realized that I will never have the time to fix it. My knowledge is limited on the car as I've only had it for such short period of time. I know the following:
I bought the car from a couple who had it since 1981. I don't know anything about it before then. I have pretty extensive maintenance records as well as the original shop manual. The car is overall in great shape. I removed the carpet to see what the floors looked like and they have no holes at all. The car hasn't ran in over 5 years but I was able to spin the motor by hand, hen put some fresh fuel down the carb and it actually fired up and sounded solid. No smoke, he oil looked good and all the plugs were pulled and inspected.. The brakes go to the floor so it is NOT drivable but looks to be something you could have running without too much work. The best part about this car is that it is COMPLETE. It has all the molding and ornaments, umper guards, ub caps, ight lenses, onvertible top with porthole windows and air filter. See the photos, his car is the perfect project. The car does have 3 problems and you can see them from the photos. 1) the car has been hit and repaired on the right rear corner. It looks like the repair was done a long time ago and the filler has failed. A good body shop can fix it (doesn't need replacement). 2) The left fender has been replaced with a '56 or '57 fender. This work was also done a long time ago given the look of the repair. This might need a fender or a good amount of repair time to fix it. 3) It is missing the fender skirts. That is all! Everything else is in great shape. I am also including a new stand and roller for the top as well as new door glass and all the records. Please don't hesitate to email me any questions cjmiller@alamedaclassic dot com. I took a lot of photos but can always take more upon request. Good Luck Bidding!
