• Ford 9" rear-end with 3.50 gears, osi 28 spline axles, raction bars - powder coated

SOME MINOR IMPERFECTIONS

• Very slight but normal wear from driving...like a new car after 6 months

• Rear bumper bolts were over-tightened and caused slight chrome cracks

• For optimal AC, e have been charging every year (small refrigerant leak)

• Posi unit is intermittent...works fine for awhile...but increasingly will go out...will likely need a new clutch pack to handle torque

• Two small cracks on passenger-side front window (see picture)

NOTE: the new "repro" dataplate mounted on the driver's door has the same VIN and Galaxie 500 body code as the original data-plate (shown earlier in the photo image strip), ut the repro has some different fields and codes (perhaps because the identical repro plate was unavailable) than the original.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE...as Ford's high-volume answer to the Chevrolet Impala, he Galaxie has earned its place in Ford history. In 1962, ord used the Galaxie name for all of its full-size offerings. The squared-roof "boxtop" Galaxie 500 2-door sedans were set-off with very impressive stainless and aluminum trim. Solid examples such as this painstakingly restored example are getting harder and harder to find.
