Ford F-100 1970 Description
If you can find a nicer early Ford pickup than this 1970 Ford F-100, uy it! With a straight body and sparkling fresh light blue paint, here can't be many that are sharper. There's also a great-running 302, beautiful interior, nd lots of originality, esulting in one of the nicest F-100s we've ever seen.Body panels fresh out of the press don't look this good, ever mind more than 45 years later. Clearly, omeone invested a sizable pile of cash and many hours of spare time in this truck, nd the result is impressive. If you're a fan of these trucks (and who isn't?), he handsome good looks come from a simple design that uses details to get the point across. Note the bright trim that runs from front to back, atched by stainless rocker and wheel well moldings plus aftermarket bed rails that are practical as well as stylish. Then there are those giant FORD block letters front and rear and a pair of chrome bumpers just for good measure. Against the light blue paint, t all glitters like jewelry, mphasizing just how straight this truck really is. The grille might be a little tarnished and there are a few signs of use and age, ut there aren't many demerits here. And it still works just fine as a truck, hanks to a spray-in bedliner that's very nicely done. The stock look continues inside, ut like the bodywork, t was done so well that it's the workmanship not the materials that you notice. A two-tone blue bench seat is nothing remarkable, ut it is comfortable and looks ideal with the light blue paint. The dash is nicely preserved, ith all the instruments working as they should even though they're still original. The door panels are most definitely original and they might be showing their age, ut replacements are available and we tend to prefer originality over perfection anyway. With a few burled walnut appliques, hich were part of the XLT package, t actually starts to look kind of upscale in there, nd when you add in a digital AM/FM/cassette stereo radio this is a truck you could happily drive every day.Under the hood, rebuilt 302 cubic inch V8 gets the job done. With great originality and a few thoughtful upgrades, t runs extremely well, elivering a good wallop of low-end torque with a crisp V8 burble from the twin tailpipes out back. Someone dressed it right, ith Ford Blue engine enamel, chrome open-element air cleaner, nd a set of sharp chrome valve covers. It still carries its original-spec 2-barrel carburetor, o you know it hasn't been raced hard and put away wet, nd it's also a little easier on the gas. There are obvious signs of careful maintenance, ncluding new plugs and wires, ecent hoses, nd an orderly look to the engine bay that can only come from someone who cares. Underneath, t's exceptionally clean, eing a lifelong southern truck, nd the C4 3-speed automatic is a willing travel partner. There's also a new dual exhaust system that's quiet but doesn't totally hide that familiar 5.0 soundtrack. Handsome Cragar mags wear fat 275/60/15 white-letter radials and look period-perfect at the same time.Go ahead, ry to find a cleaner F-100. Or you could just buy this one and save yourself some time, ince it really is as nice as it looks. With low ownership and Southern roots, his nicely restored beauty one won't last long. Call today!
