You are looking at a RECREATION 1965 SHELBY GT350 Tribute Vehicle. No it’s not the real Shelby! The idea to build a Tribute Shelby GT350 was conceived from the 2000 year release of the movie, “GONE IN 60 SECONDS”.
I call it “ELEANOR’s” – Kid Sister...
The end result is nothing short of breathtaking! A 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2, 2 Door fastback - truly One-Of-A-Kind Custom Built GT-350 Custom Recreation Tribute Automobile, over four years in the works. It houses a custom built Ford 351 cu in engine that puts out over 500 HP with a cat. 5-speed transmission and shifter.
The end result is nothing short of breathtaking!
I'm very happy to offer you this absolutely gorgeous 1965 Shelby GT350 Recreation Vehicle! All you really need to do is to look closely at the photos to see that the owner achieved his goal and so much more. His quest began by finding an original 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback body which was 100% complete with absolutely no patchwork, or rust issues whatsoever. All of the original sheet metal was taken down to bare metal, the chassis was completely media sand blasted and painted. All of the factory spot welds were completely re-welded throughout, mainly to strengthen the front and read ends. Dynamat sound deadening liners were used throughout the entire car. She was then finished in PEPPER GREY (PPG base coat/clear coat) w/ Black stripes. This no-expense spared $$$ FIVE FIGURE $$$ professional paint job is second to none, period! The dash pad was removed, all rivet holes were filled. The original front & rear bumpers were completely sandblasted and painted to match the car, a cool added touch. The hood scoop is 100% functional. The side-mounted air-cooling ducts are also 100% functional to help keep the brakes nice and cool. A set of running lights were custom installed in the center below the front bumper, and headlights were upgraded using Halogen bulbs, which really light up the road. This PONY sits on custom 17” Shelby aluminum wheels tires (245/40/ZR17 up front and 315/35/R17 Extreme Dunlop Drag Radials on the rear), which gives this gorgeous Mustang that beastie profile. The undercarriage is beautifully detailed w/ all brand new components throughout, including: Total Performance front end, 4-link Total Performance rear end, coil-over shocks, 4-wheel disc brakes, and a large fuel cell with afuel pump.
Open the driver’s door and you will find a beautiful custom black interior with mainly original aesthetics built for comfort, safety, as well as functionality. Features include: painted dash w/ all factory original gauges (fully restored), Auto Meter tachometer (dash-mounted), custom-built one-off 6-point roll cage, Custom Shelby leather racing seats, racing Lap Belts, Shelby GT steering wheel, power windows, Custom stereo with custom speakers, 10 Lb. NOS tank (mounted in the rear), all-new wiring harness w/ blackout switches, and on & on! The custom-built roll cage is very unobtrusive & hardly noticeable. The interior retains its original look & feel, especially the speedometer and the gauges, an important quality.
ENGINE:
Under the hood, nestled inside the nicely detailed engine bay, resides a custom-built 351 Windsor stroked, which produces 500hp at the crank! There was a complete rebuild on the short block, the rotating assembly came with the motor. A hydraulic roller comp. cam was installed and the degree was set. The duration is 230-236 at 0.050” with .513 lift on the intake and .529 lift on the exhaust. Lobe center on the cam is 110 deg. Hydraulic roller lifters and springs to match the cam shaft. The heads were machined to accept and handle the cam. Once the engine shop assembled the motor they set up the carburetor and tuned the engine. the compression ratio is around 9.5 to one. Features include: Custom 5-speed transmission and shifter, custom-built headers, custom 3.5” jet-coated exhaust with mufflers, custom posi rear-end, custom 4 wheel disc brakes, power steering, Shelby GT350 body kit, tinted windshield, CARROLL SHELBY signed glove box, custom engine gauges, custom engine electronics, Shelby GT steering wheel, custom AM gauges and tachometer, GT mirrors, custom read-end bars, sub-frame connectors, custom front strut support, custom radiator and cooling fan – which helps to keep this Pony running nice & cool, even in hot summer weather, NOS System (an extra 100hp is added to the mix, which brings overall horsepower to 600hp) added but not connected, and back-up lights. This awesome custom-built power-plant is linked to a new Tremec TKO 600 5-speed transmission (custom built scatter shield bellhousing, dual disc clutch rated @ 2000hp, hydraulic throw out bearing), which feeds all of that power to a custom-built Ford rear end The entire driveline is heavily beefed up to handle anything that you throw at it! As you can imagine, this awesome machine runs and drives beautifully and is very, very fast!
