Ford Deluxe 1939 Description
1939 Ford Model 91A Deluxe CoupeVery original ’39 Deluxe Coupe! Finished in Dartmouth Green over new LeBaron Bonney interior. Believed to be 59,000 mile original! Fender skirts, potlight, og lights, eater, M radio and more!
Ford’s designs of the 30s remain iconic today for their upscale penmanship, tandard features and collectability among enthusiasts. Whereas the new 1939 standard Fords looked very much like their previous year counterparts, eluxe models received a more stylish front end as well as hydraulic brakes that were new for the whole line-up for the year. 1939 would prove to be the last year for the floor-shifted manual transmission until the Thunderbird of 1955. Today, he ’39 Ford is popular because of its good looks, oth for hot rodders and purists alike. 144,333 in total were built.
We are very excited to offer this 1939 Ford Deluxe Coupe! Finished in Dartmouth Green over tan cloth interior, his Deluxe retains its correct 221ci Flathead V8 producing a conservative 85 horsepower. The power is transferred to the ground via a three-speed manual transmission. The car has several notable options including front and rear bumperettes, ender skirts, orraine pre-focused driving spotlight, ual side-view mirrors, ual windshield wipers, LC yellow tinted 5 ¾ fog lights, eater, M radio with antenna, lock, assenger vanity mirror, ocking gas cap, V8” exhaust turndown and more! The car rides on painted steel wheels with polished “V8” hubcaps wrapped in Firestone 8.00-16 Deluxe Champion gum-dipped tires!
The car is presented as an older restoration, ith paint done nearly 50 years ago. That said, t will show signs of wear with cracking in certain places but still holds a terrific lacquer shine. Inside, he upholstery has been finished with a LeBaron Bonney interior and includes the seats, oor panels, eadliner and visors. The original glass shows a minor amount of delamination but shows well. The body lines are exceptionally straight and there is no funny business near the bottom; the car is believed to have spent the first part of its life in the south. The doors shut with a reassuring thud and the windows roll up and down without hiccup. All gauges are functional and all lights work as intended. Mechanically, he car may be one of the best driving prewar flathead Fords we’ve ever had. The car fires immediately with just a hint of choke and continues to run great. The flathead V8 purrs and the manual transmission is tighter than most others we have experienced. The odometer shows 59,215 miles, hich may or may not be accurate and we are making no claims. This Ford presents an opportunity for someone to own and drive one of Ford’s most iconic models, ith the later option of painting it or leaving it as-is. We would invite any interested parties to call with questions; please don’t hesitate! Thanks for looking!
