Ford F-350 1960 Description

1960 Ford F-350 Ramp Truck (car hauler) powered by a good running 500 cubic inch Cadillac engine with automatic transmission. This truck was used by Italian Race Car Driver Gino Londi to haul his Ferrari to the tracks. I bought this truck from Mr. Londi over 20 years ago parked it in my side yard and haven't touched it (until 2 weeks ago) since. The only time I used it was to put my 65 Mustang project on it for storage. The Mustang was my moms and although in some of the pictures the MUSTANG IS NOT FOR SALE!

The low mileage Cadillac engine and trans were installed by Mr.Londi and was running good when I parked it over 20 years ago, ast week I towed the truck to my front yard and pulled the spark plugs, prayed oil in the cylinders and let sit 2 days. I then let her crank over to blow the oil from the cylinders and noted good oil pressure immediately, then put the plugs back in (note pictures how clean the plugs are) put fresh gas in the float bowl checked the points and after a few minutes of trying she cleared her throat and ran great. The master cylinder is stuck and I imagine after all this time the wheel cylinders are shot, asy to get and not bad prices, looked them up here on Ebay today and all 4 wheel cylinders and the master cylinder will be around $200. The fuel pump is not working (that's why I filled the float bowl through the vent) but I will put a new one this weekend (already ordered it).

I used the winch years ago to pull the Mustang onto the truck, oday I hooked a 12 volt battery to it and the winch works fine! There are also cables running down the right and left side of the truck bed with ratcheting cranks in the front to lift or tie down a car or ? Included with the truck are the 2 ramps Mr. Londi gave me when I bought it. I didn't picture them because they are in my warehouse so I will describe. The ramps are heavy! Probably 100 pounds each, bout 7 feet long and 12 inches wide. Made from steel tubing sheet steel and mesh for traction.

The truck body is solid! The only bad spots I found were the drivers side floor (I posted pictures) and bottom door jamb below the bottom hinge, lso a small patch on the passenger side floor board. These will be easy flat patches to make. When I bought the truck the passenger side door was damaged like it was left opened and hit something while the truck was backing, found a good replacement door years ago (but just changed it 2 days ago!) and will include both doors with the truck. The replacement door lines up great and closes sound with a light click. All the glass is there and in good shape with no cracks.

I'm going to copy and paste the story Mr. Londi told me when I bought the truck, ery sad story and I did see the burned cars. I really like this guy, e was still very optimistic! This article was from the L.A.Times

$1-Million Fire Burns 17 Rare Cars

March 30, 988|EDMUND NEWTON | Times Staff Writer

Officials of the San Gabriel Valley Fire Authority estimated damage from the fire, hich apparently spread from power lines to a palm tree to the roof of a makeshift car warehouse, t up to $1 million.

"It appears that it was started by a service line running through the top of a palm tree," said Carl Johnson, hief of operations for the fire department that covers Covina and West Covina.

An extraordinarily hot blaze, ueled by paint and thinners, he Monday fire gutted the "garage," actually a storage building with wooden walls and a fiberglass roof, n three lots adjoining the home of auto hobbyist Gino Londi. The scene Tuesday was one of charred beams and melted equipment.

Mr. Londi didn't lose all of his cars and I put one of them in my pictures. I have the Pink Slip for the truck and it is still in the name of Gino Londi and signed by him.

Full payment is due within 7 days after the close of this auction. Shipping is on the buyer, will help the buyers shipper in anyway I can from here. The truck is in San Gabriel Ca. about 9 miles East of Los Angeles. The truck is for sale locally and if sold I will end this ad. If you want to make an offer please do and if I accept will ad a buy it now price so we can make a deal.

This is a project truck and will be nice when someone takes the time to restore. I always figured I would but I'm not getting any younger and I have many many projects (Like the 65 Mustang in the pictures) to complete.
