Ford Other 1948 Description

1948 Ford flathead deluxe business coupe (no back seat haspackage tray). This car was commonly referred to asthe "short door" model. Car has a 1949 mercury flathead motorback in the day this was the the one to have. I have had this car a long time in the last 2000 miles the following work has been done:

--Motor rebuilt 4" stroke bored 1/8 Iskenderian cam adjustable lifters Edelbrock 2 duce manifold offy heads. All hoses belts thermostats were replaced at the time of rebuild

--Transmission rebuilt

--Front end rebuilt with new king pins Posie spring new wheel bearings and grease seals

--New brakes hardware kits wheel cylinder kits brake lines and master cylinder gone through filled with synthetic DOT 5

This car has been a Hot Rod for some time I found a dash plaque from the early 80's from a car show in Denver under the driver seat. I am sure the miles are correct this car runs steers and brakes very well. The rear axle is a 3:54 car is 6 volts has tube shocks turn signals heater and interior lights thatwork. Everything works on the car it's a driver even though the paint looks very good in the pictures Iestimate the paint is about 30 years old and is holding up well. Car has no rust originally a Colorado car. The car does have one area nearthe rear tail light where the paint is cracked about 3 inches.

For the last 8 yearsthe car has seen little useI start it a few times each month and drive it every now and then.It would probably be good togrease the car anddial the motor in.At times the starter disengages and both carburetors leak down when it sets a few days. The transmission drain and rear axle drain plug both drip grease need sealed with thread tape. A weekend of work would probably do it just wanted you to know the minor things that need attention.

This is a very nice car the only reason I am sellingisI am nearing retirement. There is no warranty on the car I will work with your shipper but will not arange shipping. I prefer you pick up this car in person and I would trailer it home. I have the right to cancel the auction at any time. Message me with questions thanks for your time. Have a blessed day. Charlie.
