Ford F-100 1968 Description
Up for auction is my rare 1968 f100 swb special gold edition ranger. It came to my uncle's shop in the late 80's someone left water in the original 360 engine and it cracked. My uncle saw it was a special gold edition and he bought it, Theses were regional specials like the Rocky Mountain and the Contractor special and a few others, after 1968ford discontinued the low gvwr version trucks and the special gold edition was discontinued with the light weight trucks. With the block cracked he put in a refreshed 1969 high compression 9.6:1 390 FE motor out of a Galaxie and he turned it into a shop truck until 1998 we drained it and parked it. I got it from him in 2014 it has new starter, new electronic ignition, MSD coil, new spark plugs and new carburetor, it has new oil pan gasket, new transmission gasket and screen {pic of timing chain in photo galary still tight and pretty after 20 yrs.} New master cylinder and brake lines back to the pumkin, it has power steering andnew disc wheel hubs and brake pads, DJM drop beams, crown drop shackles and hangers. New drive shaft measured after 4" drop, new wheels all around 15x8 15x10.5 in rear on 325/50/15 mickeys {the only cutting I had to do is the reliefs out of the wheel wells} New tire rods and drag bar, new front shocks, new window reg. and hinges for driver side, new carpet and seat, 3 point seat belts and gas tank, doors shut good and frame is straight, nice cab mounts and corners. Lights dowork brakes, front, cab and tailbut needssignal and bezel lightsso you'll possibly need a new wiring harness but I still drive it to lowes and tothe shop it could also use a new steerling wheel and exhaust upgradeit has old glass packed mufflers that are a littletoo loud for me and it has new radio. I have moved closer to the city and don't have room anymoreI hate to sell it but morethan likely the highest bidder will get it. if you have any question call or textKelly @ 901-503-0271 Happy Bidding!!!On May-30-16 at 16:55:21 PDT, seller added the following information:I had to add a couple of photos by requestof cab mount and rocker picturefrom underneath both sides about the same. another note you need 92 and up octane gasin your area it want tolerate anything below that. this truck is fast from red light to red light around the city. leave the original patina or paint it any color and get the badge re chromed and you'll have one heck of a truck..
