Ford Model A 1927 Description

1927 FORD MODEL A HOT ROD
Up for auction is a very nice 1927 custom Ford model-a HOT ROD! Built arround 15 years ago, this beast turns head anywhere it goes. With only 18 000 miles since completion, this car works extremely well. The metallic blue paint makes it stand out of the lot!
SPECS
CHASSIS: Basicly, the body is a fiberglass tub mounted on a period correct frame. The chassis is all painted and in very good condition. Floors are made of wood as they use to do back in those days. The tub is well made and is straight. The doors on this street rod were made not functional so you have to step over the sides to gain access. 1932 ford roadster grill and custom chrome windshield frame.
PAINT: Since it was made 15 years ago, the paint has some defects but still looks nice from 10 ft. Very nice finish. The main issues on the paint are the cracks at the back (flex in the fibreglass and vibration got the clear to crack). Couple paint chip here and there are visible if you look closely. The chassis itself is not very big and could be repainted for cheap if you are very picky.. but personally I would leave it as-is. The chrome on the headlights could be re-done, the headers also shows signs of slight rust.
INTERIOR: The dash is made of metal and looks great with the 5 vintage gauges. The seat is custom and made of vinyl. The upholstery job looks very good and the material feels soft. It has a working handbrake. The shifter is located on the floor. It comes with 2 nice vinyl covers: one for the engine bay and one for the interior compartment.
ENGINE: Rebuilt at the same time as this rod was built, this engine runs smoothly with no knocking, smoking or hesitation. No leaks-Chevrolet 305 engine with Chevrolet Double humps heads. I would say it pulls around 300HP (enough for a 1800LBS car).-Edelbrock 600CFM carburator (electric choke) on a Edelbroke Performer intake. B&M chrome air scoop.-The exhaust system is made of a set of longtube headers and chrome side pipes (see video for sound clip).-Chrome water pump. Rebuilt Alternator and Starter.-Malory distributor with MSD wires.-Holley fuel pump-electric fan on the radiator
TRANSMISSION: This street rod has a 3 speed TH350 automatic transmission. No leaks. It has a transmission cooler so you can run it at speed without having to worry about the temperature.
REAR AXLE: 10 bolts posi traction Chrevy rear axle in great shape.
SUSPENSION/ DIRECTION/ BRAKES: In front, the original model-a front end was used. It has a very nice set of chrome coilover shocks up front and track bars on each sides. The direction works well. All the bearing and bushing are in great condition. Drum brakes all around with brand new stainless steel lines.
WHEELS: 5 bolts Turbine wheels. 295-50 r15 at the back, 225-60 r14 at the front. Tires are at 8/32" or so.
ELECTRICAL: This car has 2 deep cycle batteries at the back (with a switch to choose which one you use). It features a fuse box inside the driver side door card. There is an electric fan on the radiator and an electric choke on the carb. Lights work all around.
Overall, even if this car is not perfect, it's for sure one very well built hotrod that will be reliable for years to come. If you have any question feel free to contact-us at 1-514-999-7144!
