Ford Ranger 1987 Description

Up for sale is this handsome 5-speed manual, 1987 Ford Ranger XLT pickup truck finished in Raven Black with red pin stripes. This truck has led a pampered life...and appears to have been used primarily as a commuter vehicle and tow vehicle for a small boat. Owned, garaged and maintained by the original owner until the summer of 2015. I bought it as a weekend cruiser and go to Home Depot hauler... otherwise it sits in my garage. We now have to buy my 16 year old daughter a new car so the truck has got to go.
As shown in the photo's: no real nicks, dings, scratches or dents to speak of...NO RUST! All chrome is excellent. I believe this to be original paint though in just the right light and angle (which I can't reproduce in photo's) it appears the passenger door may have been repainted at one point)
Though I have antique plates on the car I had it Virginia safety inspected and it needed nothing. For Virginia buyers, it has a April 2017 sticker. Over the past 4 months I've done the following:

This truck, with 6 foot bed, has 133,000 miles on it but if I told you it was 33,000, you would have no doubts- it's that nice. It starts, runs and drives like new. The interior is almost perfect, stockburgundycloth with 60/40 split bench seat. No cracks in the dash, no splits or tears in the seats. Carpeting is excellent. The only minor need is a weak spring in the middle of the drivers seat bottom- it's not an issue that bothers me.
The engine is the stock 2.9 litre V6 coupled to a 5 speed manual floor shifter. It also has the ceiling mounted Touch Drive Electric Shift. This allows push button, on the fly, at any speed, shifting from 2 to 4 wheel drive.
The rear window has a sliding glass door.
