Ford Thunderbird 1964 Description
This auction is for a 1964 Ford Thunderbird Convertible project. The prior owner purchased this car when he lived in Pennsylvania and then moved to the New Hampshire area where he put it in a garage to dissassemble the car and do a complete restoration. He passed away recently and his estate went up for sale. From what we were told, the car was in great running condition and complete when brought to New Hampshire. Was last on the road in 1991 and has been inside storage since then. When we received the car alot of it had been taken apart and a lot of new items purchased. We assembled some of the front end so as to beable to put rollers on. We bolted the doors back o, put most of the interior back in and set the trunk lid and convertible top bows back in place. The front fenders and rocker panels had been stripped to bare metal so we prepped and painted them so they would not surface rust. This was a very nice car to start with . Has a very solid foundation and a nice straight body lines. The only rust issues that I see are the 2 front floor pans have some rust through ( could be repaired) but I have new pans for both sides. The rest of the under carriage is clean and rock solid. There is a small rust spot on the inner quarter panel drivers side about the size of a silver dollar. The passenger side in the same spot has a tiny pin hole size. The drivers front fender down low has a few pin holes. That is basically it. A beautiful body to work with. Has it's original 390 V- 8 with auto trans and complete dual exhaust system still intact. This was never removed. I have not tried to turn it over as it should be oiled and care taken as not to hurt anything . I also have not found the keys yet as they may or may not be in the parts lot. The frosting on the cake is all the extras that I have to go with the car . You could probably get most of your money back just by selling the items you dont need. This is what is included. An extra convertible folding lid (flap) N.O.S. condition besides the one that is on the car, You hardly ever find these. The convertible fiberglass tonneau cover that makes the car a 2 seate, 4 brand new t bird wire wheels with t bird spinner centers in the boxes, 4 brand new 215 75 R 15 general usa classic radial tires with the correct 1 1/2 inch white wall. Another set of chrome valve covers new in the boxes, A pair of N.O.S full rear quarters with Ford markings ( car doesnt need them) Brand new set of fender skirt, front and rear bumpers rechromed, new bumper guards, new tail light houseings and lenses, new grill, factory am- fm radio completely reconditioned with face plate and knobs, assortment of brake parts and shoes, reconditioned power booster, ( has new master cylinder) and many other parts that I have not had the chance to go through. I believe every thing is there but could be missing a few misc small trinkets. There is a bunch of stainless trim, some of the used parts that were removed from the car and tagged baggies with a lot of the nuts and bolts. The seats were leather and have also been redone. I wish I had the time to redo this car some what and bring it a little further along but we have been right out straight and really need the garage space. Here is your chance to get a real investment vehicle for what I feel is short money. Would make an excellant winter project and if you needed parts for another bird. I also have what is left of a 66 T-bird coupe it is a rolling body (no nose doors or interior) but still has disc brake front en, 9 inch ford rear en, beautiful front and rear tinted glass and a few other trinkets. Wicked cheap money if you buy the convertible.Sold on a Maine dealer bill of sale and proper transfer paper work. If you need a title in your state we will register the car and give you the current registration and proper transfer paper work so you can obtain a title. It will be $150 dollars extra for this service should you need it. We reserve the right to end the auction early in case of a local sale. We require a $500 dollar non refundable deposit at auctions end and balance to be paid within 3 days of auctions end.
