Ford Falcon 1964 Description
For Sale By Owner: 1964 Ford Falcon Futura 2 Dr Hardtop with the original numbers matching 260 V8 - C4 Automatic Transmission. This Falcon has just undergone a full restoration and is basically just like a brand new car inside and out! These cars are fairly rare and to find one in this condition even more so. Prior to restoration it was a daily driver that still had it's original factory paint and interior. It was 100% rust free and solid. I have a complete photo journal of the car prior to and during the entire process. To start off the car was stripped to bare metal and sprayed with epoxy primer. Then all dings dents and scratches were repaired. The car was then sprayed with three coats of high fill polyester primer and block sanded using guide coat to check the progress and ensure each panel was perfectly straight. Following that process it was sprayed with three coats of 2K Urethane Filler primer and blocked again using guide coat as a guide. Once every panel was blocked to perfection it was given another coat of 2K primer to be wet sanded using 600 grit for the final prep. It was then sealed and six coats of Urethane base coat applied. That was followed by five wet coats of Premium High Gloss Urethane clear coat. It was repainted in the original color of Raven Black with six coats of Black base coat and five coats of clear followed by color sanding and buffing. The final result is a deep high quality show car finish that anyone would be proud of. As well the door jambs inside of trunk and hood jambs along with the under sides of the hood and trunk were painted with the same Raven Black and clear coat. All new weather stripping was installed as well. The interior was redone in the original colors and OEM materials. There are still a few items that were ordered for it that have not yet arrived but will be included and installed if they arrive in time. Those include a new chrome front bumper new white headliner and a new wood Grant steering wheel. Prior to installing the new carpet the interior floor pans were rust proofed and a sound deadener was installed then the carpet. This car has always been in the South and very well cared for and well maintained. There was no prior accident damage or body filler and just a few minor dings and dents that had to be repaired. The engine was rebuilt simply to add horsepower which was accomplished by adding a mild cam four barrel manifold Holley 650 Carb and headers with 2 1/2" dual exhaust into Flomaster mufflers. It runs really strong with a nice aggressive sound from the exhaust. The transmission was inspected and serviced. The suspension had been done not long ago by the previous owner and was in good condition. The rear ride height is adjustable by means of rear air shocks. It has new white letter radials mounted on a set of Magnum 500 wheels. This is a very solid & rust free Classic that could be driven daily and taken to shows and cruise-in's on the weekends. It was assigned a "Guaranteed Replacement Value" of $25000.00 by Haggerty Classic Car Insurance Co and is currently insured for that amount. I have a clear title to it and the car can be seen by appointment. The new Grant three spoke wood steering wheel arrived today and is now installed. The original steering wheel will go with the car as well. The new headliner is scheduled to arrive tomorrow and will be installed also. Anyone wishing to speak to me regarding the car may call or text me at 843-321-2802. Please leave a message if I miss your call and I will call you back.
