Ford Ranchero 1957 Description

1957 Ford Ranchero

“Original Survivor”

THIS IS MY CURRENT DAILY DRIVER !!!

“Really COOOOOL Patina”

Turns Heads ALL DAY LONG !!!

I bought this truck a couple of years ago as a project. However, it ran so good I began driving it instead. LOADS OF FUN. I decided it was silly to restore it when I could enjoy it as is…..turns out a lot of other folks enjoy seeing it as it is also. Essentially, it is in it’s EVERYDAY CLOTHES.

I’m guessing it was “fixed up” 30 or 40 years ago but NEVER RESTORED.

Here are some details;

1.ALL THE PARTS ARE HERE !!!

2.Straight body with one repaint since new, nice front fenders, good doors, good top and drip rails, good hood, good bed floor, good tail gate.

3.Rockers and Rear Quarters were part of the old “fix up” and need work again.

4.Paint is ’57 Ford Starmist Blue and Colonial White. It is probably 30-40 years old, satiny sheen with GREAT PATINA.

5.NICE Original Grill

6.All glass is good except driver’s door glass is cracked (patina).

7.Original 6 Cylinder Engine with Automatic Transmission. Starts easily ( even at -20 below Zero), runs smoothly, no strange noises, quiet exhaust and shifts well.

8.Tires are ancient Wide White Bias Ply. I have only driven around town on them and don’t think they are up to a road trip.

9.Numerous Original Options including Radio, Heater, Clock and Passenger Sun Visor.

10.Runs out and drives fine.

11.Needs total restoration to be perfect.

12.This is one roughly 5,000 Rancheros Ford produced in 1957.

I manage the body shop at B o w e r s B r o t h e r s M o t o r s in Fort Dodge, Iowa and know a little bit about cars. The car will be available to view whenever I am there.

Obviously this is not a perfect car, so don’t expect it to be one. It is an old, untouched, unrestored original survivor that needs the things that old cars do. It will require a total restoration to be perfect.

I am a straight shooter, veteran car guyand former school teacher. Iwill gladly answer all of your questions honestly. Please do not hesitate to call me.
