Ford Mustang 1968 Description
RELISTING WITH NO RESERVEReally nice 1968 Mustang 302. White with double blue racing stripes (see photos). I have gone completely through the car and fixed almost everything and serviced all the fluids etc. Also a lot of new parts as described below. Generally stock with exception of intake and carb. I will list the good and the bad in an effort at full disclosure. I want you to know what you are buying. Also see my photos. They are part of the description.
I will pay to ship car from Hawaii to Southern California.
The good:
Reliable daily driver. Great interior (no rips, tears, or splits inupholstery). Floor solid. Trunk floor solid. Frame/chassis/rockers rust free. Edelbrock Performer intake and Edelbrock 4bbl. New fuel sender. New fuel tank. New radiator. New radiator hoses. New rear brake soft line and distribution block. New front end chrome. New front bumper. Strong and powerful engine (compression within 10% on all cylinders). Electronic ignition (no points). SBC proportioning valve. Factory front disc brakes. Factory power steering. Brand new Toyo Extensa A/S 195/75R14 tires (less than 20 miles on tires), Freshly powder coated OEM GT wheels; New fuel pump. All new fluids. Starts with first turn of the key. Registration good until July 2017. Passed State safety check last month. I am sure there are other things but they do not come to mind at the moment. I will include as many of the parts receipts as I can find when I ship car. I will pay to ship car to Southern California from Hawaii. Buyer responsible for any shipping beyond Southern California.
The bad:
Some rust bubbles under paint on quarter panels (see photos). Front edge of hood rusted (but it is worth fixing since it has the rare turn signal inserts). Some rust along gutters (not all that bad). As with all old Mustangs, the Upper Control Arms tend to squeak randomly. Passenger side door lock tends to lock itself (I just never got to taking off the door panel and replacing the little plastic clip on the lock rod). The power steering pumpoccasionallysqueals when the car is first started. Aftermarket cassette stereo. Slight crimp in upper trunk lid where a loose hinge bolt caused the lid to slip and get pinched when being opened.
See my photos and contact me with questions.
I thought it was a 289 but I have now found the stamped and numbered boss behind the carb (just below the firewall) confirmining it is a 302. I can try to take a picture of it and send it to you if you want. Please contact me if you want such a photo.
Car is also for sale locally in Honolulu, Hawaii
