1967 Mustang Convertible T-5 1 of only 151 built for export to Germany, Code 94 export DSO special ordered by a military officer who also owned a 1965 Shelby. Factory Special Ordered options are T-5 package/All Mustang emblems deleted/T-5 badges added, manual convertible top, courtesy light group, rocker panel moldings, console, power disk brakes. Very rare 1 of 23, heavy duty export suspension incredibly rare 1 of 2, AM radio, Deluxe seat belts, accessory packaging, metric speedometer. Paint color code B Frost turquoise, interior code 2K, Engine 289 2V, transmission C-4 auto, rear axle 2.79. This car spent a brief period in Germany then was shipped back to Los Angles California where it proudly wore California Blue Plate tags 67 T5. The owner’s wife wanted her own Shelby style car and she wanted in red. Sometime in late 80’s a restoration/color change was performed and many options were added using real Shelby and FOMOCO parts, Shelby valve covers, aluminum intake, 1966 date coded holly 4V, headers, A/C, tilt, cruise control, PS, PB, styled steel wheels. The car was then transported to Texas along with their 65 GT350 Shelby it was driven until mid 1990 it developed a lower end knock and was parked under a carport next to a storage barn. Over the years the weather took its toll and areas of the car have been spot primed for protection. This car is very dry and solid we have not located any rust, shock towers and torque boxes are excellent, the body is very straight. We were curious so we cleaned the carburetor, installed a new gas tank and battery and started the engine it does have a low end knock. This will be an easy straightforward restoration the body is excellent. One of the rarest 67 convertibles built and should be very valuable when completed.
