Ford Other Pickups 1963 Description

This has to be the cleanest, straightest Ford Econoline pickup in America (ok, I'm biased but it is neat). I have driven it nearly every day since purchasing a few years ago. Have added all sorts of new equipment: new gas tank, electronic ignition, new carb, engine mounts, battery, tires have about 200 miles on them, rebuilt generator, new fuel pump, muffler etc. It starts like a champ every day (pump gas pedal couple of times, pull choke and BANG, she's ready). The Econoline tracks down the highway (yes, I've driven on highways and Interstate) straight as an arrow. I've used it to haul furniture for friends and that huge bed is really handy.
The body is great but there are a couple of small chips in the paint, which I've shown in pictures of windshield wiper and tailgate latch. Not making claim that it is rust free but I don't know where the rust is. There are a few small spots with tiny bubbles...body guy told me that's from not being dry when painted. Records show the original owner was a small airport authority in Arkansas, which would explain the configuration of a stripped-down model combined with automatic tranny. Also it must have been kept in hangar to avoid the rust that ravaged so many vehicles from the era.
Now the deficiencies: Life is too short to cheat or mislead people. The gas tank is new but there is no sending unit so gas guage doesn't work. Speedometer doesn't kick in until I get up around 40 mph (I've used one of those GPS speedos you can download on smart phone). The odometer does work and shows around 74K miles..I assume it's 174K but don't know for certain. Temp guage doesn't work. Radio doesn't work. Drum brakes are good but they take some getting-used-to, same with steering: it's not power-assisted and you're sitting right over the wheel.
The truck could be sold locally so I reserve the right to withdraw this listing.
