Ford Ranchero 1965 Description

1965 Ford Ranchero: The original color was Prairie Bronze. Runs good with all systems functioning except for the A/C, was originally 6 cylinder, "3 on the tree", now converted to V8 (302ci) and automatic. Strong engine and drive train from an early 1970s donor car with the C4 transmission recently rebuilt with a 50,000-mile warranty. Upgraded to period 5-lug Ford wheels and new larger front and rear drum brakes with front spindles and steering column from the same donor car.I’ve had the Ranchero 4 years. It is a local Texas car; virtually rust free no major accident damage and as solid a classic Ford as you will find.My goal was twofold: bring the Ranchero up to a "runner" againand then perform a rolling restoration. Now, the Ranchero runs reliably and can be driven anywhere, but I have not begun the body, paint and interior work.Other projects beckon and I’ve decided to pass the Ranchero along to someone who will complete the restoration in accordance with their own preferences and to their own specification. The bench has been reupholstered in original Falcon design years ago and remains in good condition. Otherwise the Ranchero needs a complete cosmetic restoration inside and out.Items not pictured but included are: A/C compressor and mounting plate, the original radiator, the original aluminum door sill covers and all original "Ford" and "Ranchero" lettering and script.

Under-carriage picture showssurface rust onfloor boards where theundercoat has peeled away. This could easily be wire brushed and treated. There are smallareas of old bondo above thepass. side taillight and below the driver sidetaillightas well ason the roof. There is also a6 inch diameter spot of peeled paint on the hoodwhere surface rust has formed. There is noevidence ofprevious accident damage repairor rust elsewhere.

You don’t often find vehicles like this anymore. The Ranchero needs a lot of additional work to be someone’s pride and joy. That said the restoration would be straightforward and you simply will not find a more solid basis upon which to build.

I’ll gladly answer questions you have or arrange an in-person inspection before auction’s close.Call (210)870-0667.I require a $500 non-refundable deposit within 2 business days with the balance of payment due in two weeks or at vehicle pickup whichever comes first.

Mileage is listed as 100,000 but note that Imake no claims regarding the actual mileage ofeither the vehicle or the drive train.
