Ford Mustang 1965 Description
My wife and I love this car, but priorities have changed and it's time to sell our Mustang. I searched for almost two years for this exact vehicle...8 cylinder, 4 barrel, convertible, A-code, no dings or rust, vintage burgundy, power steering, automatic, black interior. When I found it six years ago, I promise I heard angels sing. Every time we take the car out for adriveit feels like a parade, with honks and waves from young kids and old guys like me. Countless people have askedto buy it...from neighbors to complete strangers at gas stations. The car was in good shape when we bought it, andwe've done quite a bit to maintain and improve it. It's been garage kept since we bought it and weonly drive it on dry weekends.
Here's the run-down on the work we've done to the car, all of which has been professionally done by qualified technicians who know and love Mustangs at Mattei's Garage in Memphis, TN, and Carolina Muscle Cars in Apex, NC. I can provide records related to all of the work described below.
The original engine was rebuilt in 2013 at Mattei's Garage in Memphis. At the time, the car had 91,538 miles. As part of the rebuild, the following new parts were added. Water Pump Edlebrock Performer Series Intake, Pertronix Flamethrower III Distributor & Ignition Coil, HiPo Style Air Filter Assembly (still have original), Fuel Pump, Thermostat, Aluminum Radiator, All belts and hoses Harmonic Balancer, PCV Valve and Hose, Universal Joint, Sway Bar and Strut Rod Bushings, Front and Rear Wheel Cylinders, Gas Tank, Power Steering Pump, Dash Pad, Trunk Liner, and a long list of new gaskets, nuts, bolts, battery terminals and wires.
We moved to Raleigh, NC in 2015 and were referred to Louis Secari, owner of Carolina Muscle Cars in Apex, NC. In 2016, the following work was done. New Bluetooth Vintage Stereo and Wiring, Pony Interior including Door Panels, New Edlebrock 650 cfm Carburetor, GT-Style Rear Valence and Dual Rear-Exhaust, New Back-Up Lights, New Glove Compartment, New Door Handles and Locks, New Convertible Top Rear Window, New Vintage Rally Wheels with Gold Highlights and Black Center Caps, New B.F. Goodrich Radial TA Tires, New A/C Compressor.
This car is a driver and we've intentionally left some patina to remind us thatit'sa 52 year old car. There are minor chips in the paint, most of which are only visible upon close inspection. There is no visible rust or damage beneath the car. Technicians who have worked on the car have commented on how clean the undercarriage is and how lucky I was to find this car.
I welcome any questions. Happy bidding! On Jun-04-17 at 07:39:56 PDT, seller added the following information:
Added 6/4: I failed to mention that the car has a power convertible top and drum brakes.
