Ford Mustang 1965 Description
"Sally" as the kids named her was restored over about a ten year period by the previous owner. The restoration was completed about 3-years ago (2012 time frame).
The car looks great and has many new parts and is ready to drive. It's not a 'show quality' car but rather a great shape daily driver type of car. Specs for Sally based upon the Mustang factory codes are as follows:
Year: 1965 Body Style: Code 64A - Coupe Exterior Paint - Code Y - Silver Blue Irid Interior - Code 22 - Blue Vinyl Data Code: 13K - born on October 13, 1965 Assembly Plant - Code F - Dearborn, MI Engine Code T - 6 cylinder 200 cubic inchThe car contains numerous new parts including: gas tank, brakes (master cylinder, lines, drums), tires, fuel system (pump, lines, tank), suspension components (tire rods, shocks), interior (foam, seat covers, headliner), exhaust (manifold, pipes, muffler), plugs, wires, distributor......
The car looks and runs great. It has a rebuilt 200 cubic inch 6 cylinder with a re-manufactured T-5 (5-speed) transmission. The car originally came with a 3-speed manual so the transmission is not original. The receipt for the transmission alone was $2, 69 with all the parts (e.g., pressure plate, clutch set, cross members, harness).
Although not perfect, the car runs well for being 50-years old. There are a couple of items that the car needs but I don't consider these major. For example -- parking brake handle needs replacing (just the plastic handle), chrome side trim piece missing from windshield (passenger side), slow leak in brake system (I haven't had time to trace it down - it could be a simple as a line to be tightened), steering needs to be tightened / adjusted, stereo does not work, and the oil pressure and fuel gauges do not work (they don't move - oil pressure reads zero all the time, fuel read full). The gauges are after-market (Warner) that fit over where the original ones went so it is clean looking.
If you want any other pictures taken or information about the car, please let me know. My name is Jonathan and my cell is 410-961-0364.
