Ford Mustang 1965 Description
Video and More photos links at bottom. This 1965 Ford Mustang 289 Coupe is powered by the rebuilt original 289 A-code V8 with afour-barrel Autolite 4100 carburetor and an automatic C-4 transmission. The car was in California until 2014 and shows 63k miles. This car is totally rust free and wears its original sheet metal. We replaced all fluids and filters, refreshed the brakes, serviced the transmission, and mounted new Torque Thrust 14″ wheels with new tires. This Mustang also comes with the original Styled Steel wheels, the Grille Horse and Corral emblem, original floor console, and a clean New York transferable registration in the seller’s name.
The headlamps, parking lights, and lenses are new. The car sits on new 14″ Torq Thrust D wheels fitted with new BFG 205/70 tires.
The interior is mostly original and is in excellent condition. Recent work includes fitting new steering wheel bushing, new carpets, new dashpad, new glovebox liner, new package tray, and a modern Slidebar radio and JBL speakers fitted under NOS Jensenspeaker covers. The speedometer, gauges, and lights all function properly. The window regulators were all cleaned, lubricated, and adjusted.
The Mustang was repainted in the originalPrairie Bronze color sometime in the early 1970s. The finishis displayingits age, with chips, scratches, and patina.
The 289 A code V8 was bored 0.030 over and received new pistons, rods, bearings, rings, and gaskets in addition to being pressure washed and painted gloss black. The carburetor was also overhauled and the ignition has a new distributor, points, and plugs. The water pump, fuel filter, and fuel hose from the tank were replaced. The C-4 automatic transmission was serviced with new torque converterfluid and a new tail bushing and seal. A new battery, battery hold down tray, and voltage regulator were installed.
