Ford Mustang 1968 Description
We are selling this 1968 Mustang convertible that has been owned by my uncle's since 1983. We are unsure if it's a factory GT car but the vin decodes that it came with a factory 302, candy apple cherry exterior, and dark red interior. He no longer drives, so he is selling his beloved Mustang convertible which he has loved and babied in his garage and has rarely driven since he bought it in 1983. He bought this Mustang with 107500 miles on it and has only driven it 4500 more miles. He didn't want to wreck it so he only drove it for car shows and a handful of special occasions.

This Mustang is in good condition. Everything works on the car as expected except heater core which is starting to leak when car is turned on. A Mustang expert came to inspect the car and they said the car is in good condition. He informed that the floor and a some of the lower body panels had been repaired prior to its purchase in 1983. All the fenders on the car have there factory stamping and original factory weld marks. Other than regular maintenance there have not been any body or interior modifications since it was purchased in 1983. The body is in solid condition, there are no dents, all body lines, and gaps look great. The paint looks good; however there are various chips in the paint. The power top is in decent condition; there are small speckles of discoloration in the top and a small hole in the driver’s rear. The car has been sitting for several years in his garage, with it being started a couple of times a month. It was fired right up, sounds fantastic, and it was driven a few miles to get fresh gas, washed, and driven to storage, stalling out twice when coming to a complete stops. I suggest that the carbonator should be cleaned, fluids drained, and spark plugs replaced before driving far. The transmission shifted well; the linkage seems slightly off from matching up with the gate which can be adjusted with new bushings which are inexpensive. The leather interior is in great condition: although there is a seem that has separated. The windshield washer reservoir has a cut in it and should be replaced. This Mustang is an attention getter as is doesn't need a restoration unless your want a flawless paint job and a new cloth top.
