Ford Mustang 1978 Description

"They're only original once..."
You are bidding on an Original, Unrestored, Unmolested, Unmodified, 1978 Mustang II. This car was ordered with 21 factory options, (see photos), and has 100% original black paint, (non clear coat), that looks like it was painted last month. The odometer reads 38,970 miles which is original mileage. I purchased this vehicle from the original owner who pampered the car for 38 years, and it shows. This Mustang has been featured in Mustang Monthly magazine, featured in the BBC TV show, James Mays Cars of the People 2016, and is a multiple show winner.
BODY: as stated has its original, 39 year old, black paint that is near perfect, as is the rear lift gate. The chrome, stainless, and rubber pieces are in excellent condition, as is the glass, mirrors, grill and trim pieces. The headlights have been replaced with Cibie Halogens.
INTERIOR: the optional luxury interior is 100% original, without any rips or tears, the headliner is perfect. All electrical functions as it should, and all gauges work as they should. The AM-FM radio works great, the cassette player will need the belt reattached for the player to play. The dash and dash pad have no cracks or tears. The shifter boot, shift lever, and ball are factory. The optional factory air conditioning blows cold and works excellent. Even the clock works and keeps time! The front floor mats are factory, and even have the Ford part number on the underside.
DRIVE TRAIN: the drive train is completely original, including belts and hoses, and runs smooth, does not use oil. If you look at the photos, you will see the yellow, factory, ink stamps on the valve covers and air conditioning compressor. All smog pieces are intact and have not been modified. The cowl and buck tag are attached to the radiator support as they came from the factory. The factory 4-speed transmission shifts smooth and as stated has not been modified in any way. The exhaust is in excellent condition, is original, and still has the catalytic converter. The Mustang now has correct, optional, forged aluminum wheels with brand new tires with less than 20 miles on them. The 40 year old Goodyear spare tire is still in the trunk with some of the blue still on it, (see photo). The car was undercoated at the dealership, and comes with the warranty paperwork from the dealership.
PAPERWORK: there is all the factory paper work included with the car including, window stickers, retail buyers order, application for title, warranty facts booklet, recall letter from Ford for emissions, dealership undercoating warranty, owner card, (protect o plate), and more, a copy of the Mustang Monthly magazine that the car is featured in, and more. (See photos)
EXTRAS: also included with the sale are a set of rear window louvers, rear spoiler with end caps, painted, and ready to install, you will need to get the lower hinges for the louvers. The original, factory, style steel wheels, that came with the car from the factory, with the factory, Goodyear tires still on them... the tires are not road worthy.... these wheels were painted black by the original owner, if you want them back to factory, a simple rattle can of white paint will do it. Also, a car cover comes with the car. I have a clear, Michigan title.
This is one of the nicest, original, unrestored, Mustang II's that you will find. You can spend thousands on a restoration, much more than you could buy this car for, and chances are it will not be this nice.
With this car, you are buying a key, that you put in the ignition, turn it, and go and collect conversation, memories, and trophies, all with the twist of that key. Again, "they're only original once", and this is one, nice, original, Mustang II...
You are bidding on the Mustang II in the photos. in as is condition, with no warranty implied, buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements, pick up, and transportation costs. A non refundable down payment of $250.00 is due at the end of the auction. Feel free to ask questions or come to inspect the vehicle prior to bidding.
