Ford Deluxe 1941 Description
Here is an automobile that isn't just a bona fide classic, it's a throwback to a significant time in our nation's history. The 1941 Ford Super Deluxe was among the last of the iconic pre-war American-made cars. Climb aboard and take a little trip into our past. This is a ride you'll never forget!Black was the predominant exterior color 75 years ago, and this four-door sedan definitely embraces the look of its day. In fact, the appearance of this proud machine has remained remarkably true to its era. The paint has plenty of shine and shows well with no major flaws. You'll find a few minor chips, swirls and touch-up spots here and there, but rest assured, it's an above average finish by virtually any standard. An all steel body bespeaks the sturdy construction that was the hallmark of the auto industry back then. This car isn't just heavy, it's heavy duty. And how about those suicide doors? Aren't they cool? Those things have fascinated car lovers for generations. All of the Super Deluxe chrome trim is present and in very nice condition. There is no cracked glass and the seals are intact.Inside, the tan upholstery serves as a really nice earth-tone complement to the ebony hues that punctuate the overall color scheme. You'll be pleased with the condition of the seats, carpet and headliner. They are all in really good shape. There are a few imperfections that leave the interior just short of pristine condition. For instance, the door panel material is wrinkled and sagging just a bit. Also, the wood on the dash is showing some age and the interior chrome is lightly pitted. But given the overall appearance of the interior, these are only slight flaws and could be remedied fairly easily. If you're looking at the overall appearance, this sedan scores very well across the board. Sitting between the fender wells is the iconic Flathead V8 engine. Is there a more legendary power source in the entire history of the automobile? This isn't the original engine, mind you. It was upgraded with what's thought to be a late '40s version of the 100 H.P. Mercury motor. It has been beefed-up with a pair of precision-tuned "94" two-barrel carburetors and an Isky 3/4 Street cam, always one of the most popular camshafts for the flathead. Headers, a Mallory distributor and MSD coil are just a few of the other add-ons you'll find under the hood. This flathead starts easily every time and sounds really strong as its power resonates through a dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. A three-speed manual transmission is the second step in the drive train. While some of these vintage cars were geared extremely low from the factory, the differential gearing in this Ford has been changed to a more moderate ratio that's a realistic choice for normal driving conditions. You'll enjoy a little added peace of mind knowing that the former owner of this car was a stickler for routine maintenance. The gas tank and fuel lines have been replaced, and it also has new front brakes, a new battery, new radial tires, and an electric fan. The vast majority of any needed work has already been done. That should make your life a little easier! This time-tested '41 Ford sedan really lives up to its Deluxe moniker. It was cars like this that inspired the phrase, "They don't make 'em like they used to." Drive this one and you'll agree. Call today!
