Ford Mustang 1985 Description
1985 Mustang GT I purchased this car in 2004. it was in the best condition of all the 1985 Mustang Gt's I could find at that time. I bought it to drive it. I was doing another Ford project at that time and someone came along and purchased that one so the 85 GT became my next project. I pulled the roller 302 kept the 5 speed manual and dropped in a fresh 351W (built by me) C90E Block (bored . 030) balanced crank. with 1970 heads. Edelbrock intake. holley 750 double pumper. Mallory unilite dist. Crane 1. 7 rollers. Lunati cam. Tri Y headers and all the rest of the goodies. As you can see I like the old school look. With this cam there is not enough vacuum at idle to operate the power brakes so a vacuum collector has been added to assist. It also has 4 cooling fans on it. 2 are automatic and 2 are on a switch. The front seats have been changed and H belts installed. the dash is covered. mech guages on the pillar. tach on the dash. has a CD player with USB. small amp and 2 sony's in the back. Then it was time for Paint. it went into the paint shop in 2005 (old school paint shop) it was disassemblied and stripped to bare metal. no body filler was found anywhere that I know of (I do have pictures). we purchased a new 1984 nose so it would have a grille. I choose 2002 B7 Zinc yellow as my new color. At this point it turned into a show car and this is the result of my efforts. The following winter I changed it over to 5 lug and four wheel disc brakes (slotted rotors on all 4 corners) with proper master cylinder and E-Brake cables. I have had lot's of fun with this car and taken lot's of awards at car shows. It has been garage kept and pampered as long as I have owned it. It is insured through Hagerty. I doubt it has been driven 12. 00 miles in the last 10 years and I am the only driver. Average MPG is around 8-10 but it sure is fun. It is not a race car. it still has the 7. 5 rear with 3. 08 gears. It does have 90/10 front struts with air bags and air shocks out back. it does have bolt on sub-frames and flow masters and uncap able headers. Very interesting points: I pulled a car-fax 10/9/2005 and it only shows 2 owners (1 being me)but it also shows the first title being issued in 1994 in South Carolina and then in North Carolina in 2001 to 2003 and then me in 2004 that make's me the 3rd owner. I do believe I'm the 3rd owner and I'm sure the car has always been in the south and it has never been wrecked or under-coated. It also shows an odometer problem which is not a problem to me as I'm sure the car has over 100. 00 miles on it. One more interesting point. the car has a antenna base in the middle of the roof. I instructed the body shop to leave it there. I could not find an antenna to fit it so I made a short antenna myself to fit it. I have been told it is a DOT antenna base. I do not know for sure and cannot prove that. I have spent countless hours myself to have this car in this condition. all the work (except for the paint) has been done by me and yes I am a Ford enthusiast. (over 30 years experience with my Fords) This car is a very nice car in very nice solid condition. No car is perfect! This car is very dependable. drivable and comfortable (very stiff) as I like to feel the road. I have driven it across North Carolina a few times. I have a stack of paper of the items that were purchased to do this car. The list is longer than my memory so if you have any questions just email me. I have a clear title in hand. Car is sold as is where is with no warranties express or implied. I'm not a dealer. I am a Ford guy. $1. 00 deposit due within 24 hours of auction close. Balance to be paid on pick-up.
