Ford Mustang 1966 Description
Beautiful southern California 1966 Ford Mustang factory GT coupe built in San Jose, alifornia and remained in San Jose area until I bought it 3 years ago. The car is a genuine factory GT coupe which was restored and repaintedbright burgundy metallic. Car has correct GT markings, eluxe Pony interior, isc brakes, isc brake pedal, rumpet dual exhaust system with bright chrome extensions through the rear valance panel, " fog lamps correctly mounted with correct fog lamp toggle switch under the dashboard, T stripe running front to rear along the lower body with MUSTANG spelled out on fender behind front tire, dial black and chrome instrument cluster with round 140mph speedometer, il pressure, mp, nd temp gauges, 4 automatic transmission, intage aluminum American Racing wheels, riginal GT correct 13/16" front sway bar, ebuilt power steering, ew power steering hoses, orrect steering gear box code (HCC-AW) for GT quick ratio 22:1, nd correct sheet metal reinforcement plate under rear seat as per factory dual exhaust. The original single cylinder disc brakes were replaced with a dual cylinder power brakesand 4 piston brake calipers (red)and brake proportioning valve.
New deluxe pony interior in dark red (burgundy) and white. Interior lights all work including the center console light, nd all lights and headlamps are bright. Original floors, runk, nd frame rails showing the factory yellow markings are solid, ith no rust. Current car stereo is a high wattage Pioneer AM/FM/CD with 2 6x9 rear speakers that sound great. The original factory door speakers (am 8-track radio factory option) were replaced with new OEM style correct speakers/grille. Both doors open and shut like new. Windows roll up and down nice except for the small rear passenger window, ill come off track if not rolled slowly. New GT lights are connected into the original factory GT wire harness. When the switch is flipped on, oth the fog lights and the rear tail lights light up as per factory installation. Non-factory GTs with the fog lights added are not wired for the tail lights to illuminate when the fog lights are turned on. There issmall oil leak which appears to be leaking from the oil pan gasket and oil drain plug.I recently replaced a leaking front engine oil seal, nd replaced the timing gears with a double row timing chain/gears, ew aluminum timing cover, ummit racing stainless steel harmonic balancer, ew HP aluminum water pump, ew 3 row radiator with correct factory look, ew radiator hoses, nd new thermo clutch and fan. Paint is 6 years old with some small touchups and minor scratchesand still shines bright as seen in the photos.
The car drives straight, he engine runs strong and is very responsive, nd no smoke when starting engine or driving. Car has newer shocks and springs. The transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and the engine temperature always remains cool. Car is a head turner and consistently wins trophies at local car shows.
